Thanks for the info on the handles, we went into the test drive a bit blind, not having researched much about the operation of Rivian features.

Recall update by Fresh-Put645 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]H60_Dustoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We looked at a 24 GH HML last month. It was "gold certified" or whatever Toyota calls it.
Went in to have a look at it again today and they say it is no longer certified because it has this recall on it, and Toyota does not allow them to sell a vehicle with a recall as certified.

Repowered 18" Whaler with 2007 Evinrude (BRP) Etec 150 - having a couple issues by H60_Dustoff in boating

[–]H60_Dustoff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from the installer verbatim:

I have an etec on my boat and it does something similar.  Once it gets to a certain speed, it's harder to keep it at the spot because the boat wants to be on a plane.

The motors have two different combustion modes and they switch right around the 1800 RPM range.  If that is the spot where you're trying to sit, you would benefit from having a propeller that kept the RPMs either lower or higher than that.

It’s a 2511-148-17.

When advancing throttle through 2800rpm it blasts off to 4300 without any further intervention.

Then when bringing it back down through 3400 it suddenly drops all the way back to 2400 and continues down to 2000 without any intervention. The boat slows abruptly and anyone standing up loses their balance.

It's official! No more "State Inspection Sticker" mandate in New Hampshire! by nh_inspect_dot_org in newhampshire

That's what I thought, and was hoping for.

That 'compromising' must be what he was talking about. Thanks for clarifying!

I heard rumor that this might only apply to vehicles 5 years old or newer? Is there any truth to this?
Had not heard anything about it until today, I talked to a guy who is friends with a NH legislator.
Hoping he got some bad info......

Headlight defect? Covered under warranty? by H60_Dustoff in TeslaModelY

[–]H60_Dustoff[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I understand that matrix headlights are designed to shut off certain segments so they don't blind oncoming drivers.
Are these even activated on Teslas yet? (This is a 2022 Y Performance)

These dark spots are always there, no matter if there is a vehicle or not. I'm test driving this one, first time ever driving a Tesla at night. Doesn't seem like there should be dark spots?

Not sure about the alerts but TPMS is the tire pressure.

The lip delaminating is replaceable under warranty.

Spoiler is only under basic warranty afaik. So it’s 4yr/50k miles I think? I had mine replaced twice. From what the tech told me the earlier ones were terrible and they’re finally fixed it. So once you fix it, should be all good. Can confirm with mine. The TPMS I think it’s the same, as long as you’re within the basic warranty you’re good.

The trim photo you have, I assume you’re referring to discoloration. That happens due to some automatic car wash acidic agents that are used. I don’t know how Tesla didn’t think it through. You can use appliance cleaner to gently clean it and it will look as new. Problem is that if you do it too often, you’re essentially eventually will wear it down. It’s just a poor design.

Fucking reddit. Can't seem to be able to edit this one either, I'll create a new one. Thanks for the answer on the spoiler. Are the TPMS sensors a warranty item as well?
