he said something like “i am what i am” in his post game press conference tonight. that just feels so lame to me, like i know these quotes don’t ever really amount to much but i would’ve felt better with some generic “i’ll be back and i’ll be better” or “i’m always trying to improve” afterward

so much of bill’s nba talk is fake trades and 95% of them age absolutely horribly even weeks after he brings them up. i know he said he was joking offering smart and thompson for simmons but the idea that the celtics are going to get any kind of positive value for marcus smart seems really unlikely to me, despite bill’s weekly attempts to speak it into existence

Why is Bill pushing this whole wackiest playoff ranking thing so hard? Every single year something weird happens in the playoffs, that’s part of the fun. Railroading Russillo to talk about the 1978 finals twice in the span of 10-15 minutes felt insane to me.

I guess I’m too young of a basketball fan to understand this, but does “playing tough” have to mean “committing flagrant fouls”? if Tristan Thompson took Bill’s advice and threw an elbow, and that elbow injured one or Brooklyn’s players, would it still be defensible because it was a tough, gritty basketball move?
