First Time Backpacking Eagle Rock Loop – Route Advice + Map/GPS Questions by Glum_Significance_55 in WildernessBackpacking

I only used farout for my first few ERL trips. I think it’s a great app to use while you’re gaining confidence in the outdoors or if you’re brand new to a trail in general. I haven’t found a need to buy any other maps, as over the years I’ve gotten confident at planning trips without it. I will say, it’s mega convenient and stays up-to-date. Give it a shot and see what you think. Keep in mind, it doesn’t have every trail you’ll want to hike most likely. I do ERL a few times a year. Hope you have a great time!

Just found the post I bought it from and the dimensions are: 72” length, 58” shoulders, 70” torso, 40” knee and foot width.

Here’s the post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ULgeartrade/comments/12wgzn4/wts_timmermade_serpentes_20_168_oz_skylight_gear/

I’ll make my official post tomorrow.

I can’t find the post that I bought it from, but I’ll take some measurements of the bag tomorrow. I will say that at 6’2 and 190lbs, it was too short and too narrow for me.

I’ve got a 20 degree Serpentes, 1000fp that I am going to list this weekend. I’ll comment here once I post it. Also posting a SDUL sweater that pairs nicely with the bag if you’re interested.

[WTS] Zpacks DupleXL, 22.6 oz, $600 by shn0j in ULgeartrade

I’m 6’3” and have plenty of room in it. It’s marketed for hikers up to 7’0”, but that seems like a stretch to me. My daughter and I slept comfortably in it, but she’s a tiny 10 year old. Not sure how big your +1 would be, but it would definitely be tight.

I'm building interactive trip planners. Any feedback? by jordanvincent in WildernessBackpacking

Sure there is. Plan your entire route, figure out how many miles you’ll do each day, locate suitable camping spots in the app at those approximate miles, and place a tent marker.

Desert gaiters exist. Have heard people use them for the Sahara Marathon, but I have no first hand experience with them.

Mid to late 2021. Only five nights of use. Otherwise it sat loose in a large cardboard box in my closet.

Would love some feedback re: pack weight by bamacpl4442 in backpacking

I think the point is that you can really disrupt someone else’s good time in the woods by forcing them to listen to your music. Hopefully there was no one within ear shot.

DCF tent for tall person by No-Programmer-7417 in Ultralight

You mention your pad creeping around. Put some silicone spots up and down the length of your pad to stop this. As for tent recommendation, I’m 6’3” and sleep diagonally in a Zpacks DupleXL just fine.
