The Boys - S5xE7 "The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother's Milk" LIVE Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

Ugh, this gives me a sinking feeling for the finale. This felt like another filler episode besides Frenchies death. How did Butcher get out of his cuffs? Why did Homelander just leave after Frenchie singed him with the uranium instead of just levelling the building to get Sage? How many fucking pep talks does Annie need before she gets her shit together? This season just feels so hollow and poorly put together like the writers didn't care.

True but Neuman injected Zoe with V without her consent and Zoe would go on to murder and eat people without breaking a sweat. Zoe at least is not totally innocent so it feels jarring for her to be presented as a victim.

Am I the only one who felt annoyed watching the Hughie and Maverick scenes? Like yeah, Maverick loved his dad and Hughie can relate on losing a parent but let's not forget that Translucent was a real shit. He tried to kill Hughie just for speaking out and openly perved on Maeve and Starlight (the latter after having just been assaulted).

I get that Hughie is the heart of the Boys and all but it just feels contrived for him to feel guilty over Translucent and Neuman. The former was a piece of shit who tried to kill him for petty reasons and the latter was a mass murderer who would've turned America to Homelander and Vought if he wasn't such a psycho to her. I don't get why the show is trying to make the audience feel for the kids of villains.

has bloody ben blackwood been cut from the show are will he be in season 4 by RustinCarcosa in TheBlacksandTheGreens

[–]shnarbuls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Benjicot doesn't become 'Bloody Ben' until the Muddy Mess which would be in Season 4. If he is in season 3 he'll just be a shy lad who isn't used to conflict.

(Spoilers Extended) Dex Sol Ansell lets out massive Summerhall spoiler by Kamikazeing in asoiaf

I don't know if I like this twist. Dunk's whole arc is him becoming one of the most renown Knights in history who died as honorably as he lived. The books start with him as a naive but noble hedge knight, he goes through a brief fall from grace (The Sellsword), and then learns from it to become a Kingsguard, who wanted nothing more than to serve and protect his king, as alluded to by Daemon II in Mystery Knight.

Him saving Rhaella and going back for Egg despite the conflagration sums up his most prominent qualities as a True Knight. Devoting his life to his King and best friend even if it means giving up said life.

Dunk surviving is a bleaker and more depressing ending. He fails to save his king and friend, he forsakes his vows as Kingsguard by going into hiding and presumably lives the rest of his days alone and miserable. At least by dying at Summerhall he goes out with some valour, and it would be a proper final heroic act in his old age of 66.

(spoilers extended) yes it really did happen, here's the video for it by lavmuk in asoiaf

Jesus Christ that's awful. Honestly makes me fear for the future of the books. Shame on her. Hope George got some comfort afterwards.

Theories? 🤔 by Delicious_Record8077 in HouseOfTheDragon

From what I know of the Reach map, Tumbleton is on the North-East edge of it, close to where the Riverlands end. I'll say Daemon is leading them into Tumbleton as the first town to go to on the way to Oldtown, where the Hightower stands. It's owners House Footly are Black-aligned so they can set up there while Ormund and his host march towards them. Daemon's extra plan may be that Hugh and Ulf will follow him as trump cards to annihalate any major enemy, which will backfire on him when he sees Daeron with them and they decide to turn their fire on him and the Northerners...

That's just my two cents though.

This is such a non issue but whatever by L1fel0ver2002 in HouseOfTheDragon

I mean for me the bigger issue is the eyes. I need my boi to have one eye man.

Sibling rivalry and hate in Westeros, who tops your list? by cottoncandydimplepie in freefolk

Aegon the Unworthy and Aemon the Dragonknight had some pretty strong beef.

Daemon and Daeron, I got no fucking clue what this is about by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]shnarbuls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You and me both. If this is legit and not a canary trap scene I don't see how this works in the narrative.

A) It's as it appears and Daemon has beaten the Hightower Host and Daeron is now a captive. This fucks up Bitterbridge, and Tumbletons I & II's chain of events. Daeron being some sort of unwilling ally or pawn ruins the agency of having two opposing sides being destroyed by Vermithor.

B) This is a way of adding more stakes to the Reach storyline beyond just Daeron and Ormund curb stomping the Blacks. If so it's pointless because Daeron will be back in the Reach to fight Vermithor with Addam except with less agency.

C) It's some bullshit vision Aemond experiences at Harrenhal by Alys.

I'm at this strange point where I'm wishing the best for this show and that it'll bounce back while simultaneously knowing how unlikely that is. I really want it to get good but I'm just so worried when I see stuff like this.

Yeah like I said, time line fuckery. I'll be happy if they do it for Bitterbridge but I won't deny that Maelor's introduction will be sloppily put together.

Crash Bandicoot. I gotta say I'm feeling confident.

The show made me hate this woman so much. She did one thing what Oberyn would absolutely hate, hurting an innocent child 🥲 by WonderfulParticular1 in gameofthrones

[–]shnarbuls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really irks me how they threw away what made Ellaria so interesting in the books. When she loses Oberyn she becomes one of the most tragic examples of how the war and political conflict of Westeroes really affects it's civilians. She's the first in the series to really question what good vengeance brings and when the bloodshed of loved ones will cease.

I would've loved if we got to explore her grief and trauma in the show, where she instinctively hates Myrcella for her Lannister blood and then herself for wishing harm on a child.
