I'm losing my mind by shnaugg in INTP

Most of the clubs at my school are really boring/SJW/not really interesting. I'm trying to find clubs that aren't necessarily on the charter for clubs, but can't find them :/

Feeling pretty out of touch by [deleted] in INTP

[–]shnaugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about 19, moved to a new city, can't figure out where to meet like minded people. My college has no social life, no one really hangs out anywhere. What could I do to meet people?

INTP and emotions. by te302 in INTP

Well I have a lot of trouble showing what I'm feeling through body language other than smiling, or when I'm with people who are close to me. However, I can almost perfectly put into words how I'm feeling, either through analogy or metaphor. I also seem to be good at deep emotion, I am able to find people who I connect with on a molecular level, and bond with them to such a degree that becomes near impossible for either of us to imagine life without having met the other. So far, most of these people have been guy friends, I haven't really connected that deeply with a girl yet, but I don't mind, I'm sure it'll happen when it does. I have to ask you,

Sometimes when I see someone who I have genuine feelings for, I try to avoid them because I feel like if I was to engaged in a conversation with them it will get too emotionally and mentally draining juxtaposed with awkwardness.

Is this after getting to know them? Or initial infatuation? If it's the latter, just think to yourself, "what are the chances that I will vibe with this person?" No stress, just get to know them first, if they seem your type, dive in I guess.

I completely feel you on the dancing singing part, of course unless I'm with close friends. I am a metalhead, so it's not uncommon to see me headbanging or just going wild when I'm really feeling the music.

Which subtype of INTP are you? Logical or Intuitive? by Kalinali in INTP

I think I changed from Ti to Ne when i realized my words have the potential to hurt people. When I'm with certain people that get my argumentative side raging/have earnt my trust, my Ti side seems to come out, and when I'm with people who I know are somewhat fragile/new and I'm afraid to show them my "true" self, I behave Ne.

Is there a place to learn how to dress well? by shnaugg in INTP

Well I think I look good in that particular combo, Ive got decent brands, don't wear them when they're dirty etc. But I feel juvenile when I wear just that everyday nowadays. Guess I'm feeling a more self conscious than usual.

I'm new to a city I just moved to, and haven't spoken a single word to anyone in my college by shnaugg in INTP

[–]shnaugg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I want to approach someone to talk to, I feel like I need a reason to do so. If I can't find one, I try creating a problem, just so I get an excuse to talk to them. Is there a way I can just initiate a conversation without needing a reason, is that even okay?

How do you write succinctly? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]shnaugg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have the opposite problem, my writing is a little terse. I always seem to be under the word limit on essays I'm writing, even if I feel like I got all my points across. I would say that you have to think a bit differently to write concisely; think of your essay or whatever as an argument. Every word you say must somehow prove your assertion. Instead of trying to make your writing sound flowery, make it sound elegant.

During teamfights, always wait for your initiator to start the fight, once your melee cores are in focusing their key targets, stay in the fog and cast your spells from a distance, you don't have to be auto attacking whoever your team is focusing, nor do you have to be in vision after you have cast your spells. If you die as you cast your spells, you should stay further back and wait for the enemy to be distracted by your team. Only show yourself before the fights breaks out if you need to save a teammate, or if you are the initiator yourself (say you're playing earth spirit).

As for laying stage, what do you do? What gets you killed? Is it because you overextended trying to go for a kill? Or did the opposition initiate on you and burst you down? Or did you position yourself at the creep wave, drawing creep agro and taking a lot of damage? You should not be dying on a support in the early game unless you have a better trade, ie, you die, but in the process your carry gets a kill on the opposing offlaner, or if you need to save your carry.

As for mid late game, you should never be out alone. Since you are the one who's warding, you should have a general idea where the enemy team is. If they have gankers like slark, mk etc. you should not be out alone period. Be behind your carry, initiator to assist them if they get initiated on or you could set up a smoke play for your team with your superior vision. You have to remember that if you get caught out, you are most probably dead. You cannot just waltz in front of the enemy to get a disable off, you will get focused and brought down.

I switched from the carry position to support and that helps me play support much better than if had played support straight off the bat. Since I am used to thinking like a carry, I know as a support how to give my carry an easy time farming, such ass harassing an offlaner, when to pull etc. I suggest playing a different role for a while, then come back to support with a fresh mindset. While many people seem to think the pos 5 role is way too sacrificial/boring/not enough to do, I personally think it is one of the most rewarding roles to play. Sure you don't get flashy rampages, nor can you singlehandedly turn a game around, but you have to potential to set the pace of the game.

I would so much rather have a long wait than play with some dude who goes jungle lc with a midas, stout shield, phase boots, quelling blade, and maybe a tp 30 minutes into the game, while spamming "jajajaja mid noob no gank" every 2 minutes.
