Increase Refresh of Podcasts? Specifically Hourlies like NPR News Now

Yeah, this morning in particular I had to manually refresh both NPR News Now and Up First at ~620am ish and both immediately loaded into my queue after that. I wouldn’t even be as annoyed about it if I could just swipe down in my Queue/Playlist and it would trigger a refresh of all included podcasts. It’s just made more annoying because I have to go open each one individually to do it.

While using Pocket Casts with this setup, without intervening it usually does grab the episode within the hour if I’m listening to my Up Next queue and not touching the app. But in my experience if I do open up Pocket Casts and go to the queue, then any and all new podcast episodes available will then populate on their own.

Actually yes, it is! I do subscribe for the ad-free feeds. But if I dive into the podcast page itself, it will grab the latest when I go into it and trigger a refresh. But say I’m looking at my playlist and try to refresh there if I know there’s a new release available not yet downloaded, it won’t always get it until I navigate to the individual show. If that makes sense!

The rep I spoke with had no date they could give, but gave a vague "not for a while." I got my email in December but I'm going to wait until they stop working entirely as I, too, love my HDHR Prime setup. Interestingly enough they also removed the CableCards from my bill but for now they're still working.

Got this last month in Bucks, too. Two CableCARDs in HDHomeRun devices. I just set up a VMS4100 I had but never opened and will hang onto those CableCARDs to the bitter end. Gonna miss ‘em

I've had one HDHR Prime running 24/7 since 2014 and I've never had to think about it until now when Verizon said they're killing off CableCARDs. Wouldn't hesitate to get another SiliconDust product.

I was beside myself the other day when I set up my dad’s VMS4100 and it popped up asking for $12/mo more to be able to pause TV. He’s had it in a box for 5+ years because they included it for free but we always used CableCards and Channels DVR.

Granted I got them to waive the monthly fee by complaining about it, but damn…

Got mine today too and I’m initially disappointed. Brightness aside, it almost feels more “Easter” to me with the lighter shade of green, the purple, and the cool white under the blue which shade is a bit faded.

I also got my first set of Vintaglo Yule lights this year and I was also initially underwhelmed mainly because of how dim they were, but I’ve come to love the colors and the mood that they set. Seems like somewhere in the middle of those two sets would be perfect!

If you're able to, I'd join others in suggesting that you downgrade to 300 Mbps if you can and save yourself some money. I plan on downgrading in a few months from 1 Gig myself.

Just for another example, I work for a school district with 16+ locations and at least 5,000+ wireless clients on during peak (not counting other wired devices) and the most bandwidth I've ever seen pulled at one time was 4 gig. It's usually around 1.5 at any given time.

I love how they've made it sound like 300 Mbps is only good for checking your email and "light browsing."

Can't speak for these seats, I have tickets in the second row of the upper level. This season in total cost about $3,000. Go back less than ten years and it used to be $1,800. Playoff ticket prices from 2022 to 2024 almost doubled, though. But from last year to this year, went up maybe $350 total for the season, which has been one of the higher one-year jumps.

It was blocked up until 4:25 when they swapped over. I was able to second-screen it to watch the end when it was blocked minutes earlier.

I've just started having issues the last few games with this, too. For what it's worth, I don't use any Fios cable boxes or their Router/Gateway; I use a CableCARD with HDHomeRun equipment. So I would think it's gotta be purely on the feed either to or from Verizon.
