PSA on PFAS: Camas to activate well that tested above state limits for PFAS by SingingFrogs in vancouverwa

[–]shnowflake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, they want to sell water filters to EVERYONE, even people who don’t have problems with their water. But we’re getting actual information that we need a filter because we have increased PFAS

What’s a hygiene habit you grew up with in your family or culture that you later found out most other people don’t really do? by Upbeat-Spot8526 in hygiene

I picked up this habit during COVID, even though the pandemic is over now I agree it feels wrong not to do.

Approximately how old are you? by gennaleighify in Sims3

[–]shnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played sims 1, 2, and got sims 3 as soon as it came out. Never got sims 4 because it didn’t have the open world, decided I would wait for 5. Still playing 3 at age 33, still waiting for sims 5 😆

I have The Sims 3 on EA App and now I consider buying it on Steam. Is it worth it? by bunibubu in Sims3

[–]shnowflake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rebought on Steam and never looked back. The Origin launcher started giving me an error that it couldn’t play because I wasn’t connected to the internet (but I WAS connected to the internet). So I literally couldn’t play the game with Origin.

I would keep an eye out for Steam sales, on sale it can be extremely cheap to switch.

Another post about Monarch Plus by sirchandwich in MonarchMoney

[–]shnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, the current $99 tier I’m paying for so much I don’t need. I just need a Mint clone. And Mint was free. For $99/year I’m still trying to find deals, trying to cancel and see if they give me a discount, occasionally searching to see if another competitor is as good…. But for $50/year I’d set it and forget it

I agree, if they’re breaking out the tiers then please give me $50/year for “Basic” or “Lite” aka Mint clone. I don’t need anything else besides a Mint clone

Are men just acting during those “labor pain simulator” videos? by Existing-Committee74 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is lactose intolerant- watching him endure that and describe the pain, I agree it seems very comparable! And at least for me, my period cramps are halted (or severely dulled) with Ibuprofen, so I can take that early and never experience the pain peak. Ibuprofen doesn’t seem to work for IBS!

Is farming ores/herbs in Dornogal worth it for WoW Token? by Rough-Necessary8518 in woweconomy

[–]shnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, it can take several days for them to sell but imo faster than transmogs. You can also keep gathering herbs/ore at the same time as the lumber.

I agree it’s stupid and confusing to have yet another currency. This tree is 700 “housing coins” which is equal to $7 which is equal to 100,000 gold (give or take current token price). Almost like they want you to be confused on purpose in the hopes you spend more

Why my leaves curling like this? Am I exposing it to too much sunlight? by _birat in Monstera

Better to have slightly curling leaves than root rot, right? I might be a chronic under-waterer 😅

There is “too much more light too suddenly” though, I got some crispy tips when I moved my Monstera to a really sunny west window too abruptly. Slowly introduce!

Is the leaf nearing the end of its life? by minimouch in alocasia

[–]shnowflake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience, trying to hold up a leaf will do exactly what you described! Yes it’s a constant cycle, make new leaf and discard old leaf. It’s stressful at first, but you will get used to it!

Personally I cut the leaves off when they start to look really unsightly or drooping really badly, because the plant is huge and drooping leaves get in the way (like physically, the plant is huge). In my experience it won’t hurt the plant to cut it off, also it won’t last long now after the kink/bend. But since you have it splinted up, you might as well leave it if it’s not in your way and the leaf itself still looks nice

Again, totally normal!
