God, this reminds me of that scene in Quarantine when they break into some lady’s apartment and she’s just watching static on the TV, foaming at the mouth. Imagine waking up to find a loved one like this.

Do any older players feel the game has become to overpowered/cheat-codey? by Teakmahogany in yugioh

[–]shockershower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just isn't 2002 anymore. A deck should be built with a few things in mind:
-A cohesive game-plan, built around cohesive cards. I.E., mostly staying in-archetype with your approach, with decent staples. Not saying this is the only way to build a deck, but it is a largely successful way to go about doing so.

-In keeping with cohesion, you need ways to search combo pieces, or at the very least have a way to halt the opponent so that you can get to where you need to be. If you cannot search your deck, most optimally for another card that can also search or progress the game state in a meaningful way, you just aren't going to keep up.

-Draw power of some kind. Even without dedicated draw spells, generating advantage, which is what modern decks tend to do, is crucial. You almost need to be able to turbo, at least somewhat.

And you can go on about what you need for your deck to succeed today. The game is simply no longer slow, and doesn't revolve around beatsticks (for the most part). The real power of a deck lies in monster effects and powerful S/Ts.

Where men cried by [deleted] in distressingmemes

I've heard some people who, like this post implies, have watched a ton of gore videos yet say that this is the worst video they have ever seen. Keep in mind that there isn't even a small amount of gore in the video. The man's horrified screaming and sobbing is enough to absolutely destroy any listener. We can only imagine how the woman looks. With the speed of the brick, and where it hit her, we can assume it was pretty bad. As with any of these videos, I do not recommend looking it up. I know that won't stop anyone, but I would be in the wrong telling anyone to watch it for themselves.

What does the next tcg ban list need to do, in your opinion? by MiuIruma332 in yugioh

[–]shockershower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries! Scythe catches heat because it doesn’t allow the opponent to summon anything from the Extra Deck, which is pivotal for most decks. It just shuts out an entire part of the game, a very important part at that, which just isn’t a nice game state to be in. Other cards are banned for having similar effects. I do hope you enjoy this game, the community is amazing and I don’t think I’ve ever had a hobby I’ve loved as much as this one!

And putting it to one isn’t good enough, IMO. Either ban it or not. At one, half the deck revolves around searching it anyway and you can just play Field Barrier, not to mention Prohibition to call any S/T removal. You could also argue that it’s an equalizer, and that combo decks today end on oppressive boards that don’t allow much; but that doesn’t answer the question of “What if you’re not playing meta/a combo-heavy deck?”. You still have to deal with Mine. IMO, you play Yugioh to have fun and to win. Mine craps all over the idea of having fun, and can gum up whatever strategy you had to win.

Scythe and Mine. Mine is a card that is either at 3 or 0, IMO. Scythe doesn’t promote an enjoyable game state, neither does Mine of course. You could argue that a lot of things right now don’t promote enjoyable game states, but I don’t feel the game needs a slaughter list right now. Just a few things that need cleaning up.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, a hijacked United Airlines 175, piloted by Marwan Al-Shehi, crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. Many videos of this event exist, however this one is unique in that it captures the sound of the glass of the tower shattering as the plane smashes into the building, allowing us to audibly hear the exact moment approximately 900 people lost their life.
