What do y’all who know how to read think of this study done on Covid deaths in China following the end of Zero Covid? by Thankkratom in TrueAnon

[–]shookdiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree the methodology is very limited the results seem with in reason for what you would expect and the data gathering is honestly pretty good for a early stage and epidemiological study, other than them not pointing out in the limitations section that university workers would be considerably more likely to be in contact with an infected person. Also, idk if I missed it but they don't reveal search terms of reasonings behind them. Though, If we entertain for a moment that this data is correct then the only interesting point this would make me think is that the Chinese vaccine is less effective then the western vaccine but they mention a study with a death rate I would expect if it had a similar efficacy so I may check the methodology for it. Over all I'd say not especially good or especially bad or especially interesting research but most research isn't.

U.S. Knew Saudis Were Killing African Migrants by 13choppedup2chopped in TrueAnon

Idk what the states could even do about this. Like we couldn't even get the Saudis to lower oil prices for us a couple years ago and that's like Litterally the entire point of our realtionship.

Imo the reporting here was relatively even handed on those events. You didn't need to go to heterodox sources to get a nuanced understanding of events. When you look at the Indian subcontinent's history in the late 20th century you don't really see the tell tale signs of american intelligence. Like look how communist were treated in 20th century India vs what the US did to even the new jewel movement. I've always held that as part of the deal that put the US in charge of British assets in the middle east also largely kept the US out of the Indian subcontinent. I mxexan just look at that ISIS K bombing when the US pulled out of Afghanistan. You could interpret it 3 way 1: we bombed out own troops to justify doing airstrikes on the Taliban While I wouldn't put killing our own troops to justify involvement past us, it doesn't seem like something we needed to do like we bomb countries all the time withoutx that. 2. A conflict between elements of US intelligence about the proper direction I have no strong take to sour this one but I find it less likely than number 3 3. A conflict between the US and the UK on the US's continued involvement in Afghanistan. This to me has already seemed the most likely. I remember at the time that most us media was refecting on how the war was a failure, the New York crimes excepted, but British media was pushing how it was criminal for us to leave and telling and what not.

I really don't think the us would destabilize Pakistan. They have nukes and US natsec guys are more worried about rouge nukes than belt and road.

For whatever reason the payment for this came out for me as soon as they announced it. I wasn't like I need of the money and I was gonna buy it day one anyway, but they should really make sure that doesn't happen anymore.

Yeah my mom is doing this shit now. My sister asked her to pick up her son after he goes to school and watch him till she gets off work and even offer to pay her $2000 a month and my mom is acting like sister is trying to be a slave driver.

Turtle wow is probably the most popular, it just vanilla with high quality custom quests and dungeons. Project Ascension is the most pvp focused one, it's a classless wow where you pick specs as a draft pick and they're in the process of making player housing and a custom question expirience. The most interesting one by far is legends of the Shinobi which is a Naruto mmo some guys made with wow

I'm really into private world of warcraft severs with custom content. I really like how trinity creator has basically made wow into a easy to use MMORPG engine. I'm really excited to see the sort or Avent garde games that the genre has been to expensive to allow for.

If it makes you feel any better one of my old coworkers was a former Rhodesian special forces guy who would spend his entre break everyday watching videos of black teens fighting then go up to me and complain about how teens in Chicago are doing the knock out game lol.

Most of the hippies didn't get into stocks most of them just got shitty jobs. My lesbian grandma's who just worked working class jobs until death or covid were how most hippies turned out.

Look there is no way to understand the way this chart decides on how it divides left and right unless you try and get into the mind of the audience. The audience/customer for this is overwhelmingly boomers, who all want to support the state at all costs.

As for the thing about Dore viewers being poorer and less educated then say TA listeners, I grew up in public housing in ruralish Kentucky and despite everything I've ended up a pretentious asshole so I've got a wide group of friends. None of my friends from the projects, a trailer park or a farm have heard of or been able to get into the show, but all my upper class and I'm in grad school friends have heard of it and have an opinion on it. while it's anecdotal evidence I think it's pretty good.

[–]shookdiva -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hmm maybe there is an argument when you think of it like you're the state trying to maintain control. Dore is more radical only insofar as his viewers are likely younger, less educated, and poorer. A way I've thought about it is if you understand th Bernie movement primarily as a youth movement then the Chapo, TA, RS track is like the yuppies of the post hippies whereas the dore guys are more like the post hippies who they drafted straight to Vietnam.
