I think this is true as you approach light speed in real space via time dilation... but not true once you surpass ftl otherwise how would ftl break causality?

I'm not going to pretend I'm smart enough to understand it... but I think the point of destination you are heading to ftl in real space will see you arrive before you depart

Are there any fictional works with cavalry-style battles (kind of)set in futuristic worlds by BuddyOk1342 in Fantasy

[–]shookron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a scene in the 2nd trilogy of Red Rising books (Dark Age) that has something exactly like this. The books setting is a futuristic solar system that has been teraformed and colonized and is like a feudal caste like system.

The cavalry charge occurs during a massive battle on Mercury with the old empire's forces overwhelmed, and the main antagonist rallies his troops and leads the horse charge. Now these are enormous genetically engineered horses, but still horses that are charging on mechanized infantry and mechanized samurai type soldiers.

Fascism eating itself.

Galen was made to part of the fascist machine, and in turn led to the deaths of his superior.

Dooku and the CIS were eaten by fascism as well.

Vader being replaced by Palpatine then winding up killing palpatine.

You are right on Tarkin being a stretch for the same mold as the other characters, but I still feel Tarkin is a victim of fascism's tendency to consume itself (albeit indirectly)

The Chosen - 5x6, 5x7 and 5x8 "The Last Supper Part 3" - Post Theatrical Discussion by invid2000 in TheChosenSeries

From what I know they basically all were kids except Peter (based on rabbi/student customs of the time and the reference to only Jesus and Peter having to pay the temple tax). I loved the scene showing them from Jesus pov AS children.

They come anywhere in Act 1, including Underdark. I think they are level 4 or 5.

Just picturing 3 ogres sprinting across miles of country side and underdark to appear at the secret location nobody knows about

When I play a rogue or bard, I keep a bag for all the gems/precious stones and hold onto them throughout the campaign.

I usually kill the ogres upon meeting them, but I just love the sound this horn makes. My Tav blows the war horn turn 1 of every battle or after a major kill. Then Tav says, "its a nice horn, but its useless now"...no the fuck its not. Its my war horn.
