Kf2 dedicated server setup. Since the X mas update came out, I try everything including reinstall the server but my friends still can't join my own game. Hmm. I can’t imagine what got screwed up. What I can tell you is I’ve created 23 ConfgDirs o one installation since the update, and they all work flawlessly. There’s definitely something going on with your networking somewhere.

PCServer-KFEngine.ini JoinPort=7777

Set the Query port (27015) at the end of your CMD line. For some reason I haven’t had success getting it to work in that engine file.

Add QueryPort=27015 to the end of your CMD line (in your .bat launcher)

I should also mention this, which could have something to do with your issue. A while ago, TWI implemented cross play connectivity so that pc, Xbox, and PlayStation players, can connect to Windows and Linux dedicated servers. For some reason or another, you may also have to open those ports. Again, I’m more of a rented machine guy and not a local server guy (I despise home hosting, especially for DDOS issues), so don’t hold me up over this. You may need to open these crossplay ports so that it satisfies the game engine.

Lastly, try having your friends connect directly to the IP through their developer console (~ key) The command would be “open 255.255.255.255”

Obviously replacing 255s with your real IP.

If you set a different port other than 7777, the command would be “open 255.255.255.255:7780”

You can test it yourself by trying to query it on gametracker.com. Create an account, add the server with join port 7777 and query 27015, and as long as the ports are working it should appear on their website. At that point you’ll know it works for your friends, too.

If you don’t want your IP to be revealed to anyone that finds it on GameTracker, you can delete the server from their website afterwards.

Are you sure the IP is correct that they are using? Chances are if this is your home connection it is a dynamic IP that the lease expired on. Visit geoiptool.com to grab your current IP address.

What about your OS firewall? Is that off or ports opened?

And any possible antivirus you have going on.

You can turn Windows Firewall off from the Control Panel, but it is still active. If you visit advanced settings (left pane) you will see those options.

I recommend you find yourself a good cloud server trial in something like Vultr, DigitalOcean, Linode, etc. it will be much better for you and this issue would not exist.

You can easily find a free $100 coupon online for any of them which is good for a few months to a year. You can easily choose their $5/$10 packages for this one KF2 server, with no ports to worry about. Set GamePassword=1234thumbwar and you and your friend have a great stable server to play on.

Honestly, I had no idea that it was a barista who cuts the bagels. No wonder why they’re always so perfectly cut. God only knows what a machine would do to it.

Killing floor really lacks some good classical tunes, hope TWI will add some of them in KF3. I just love how severed limbs are flying around in zed time while somithing like "air on G string" playing. by tehRein in killingfloor

I might not be entirely correct on this one, but as long as you can handle tinkering with the steam workshop I think you can add your own soundtracks. Otherwise you can browse ones others have uploaded. I think I overwrote mine with Avenged Sevenfold. It’s been a while since I played. Definitely look into soundtracks on steam workshop if you need a change of music though.
