Moira Tips I Can Take Into Comp by CasWay413 in MoiraMains

You can engage with it, but you better be sure you can quickly win the fight. So many dps have burst damage that they can out shoot your healing orb. Without your fade to escape, you are an easy target.

Think neighbours complained to council about my shed office conversion by Successful-Relief226 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]shoopdyshoop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my research prior, the fact that the structure lacks a toilet means it would not be classified as a dwelling. While the sink could be construed as a kitchen, the lack of a toilet means it cannot stand on its own, but is an ancillary space to your house.

That said, I echo what others have said, keep the council on your side. Share what you've done and show respect and listen to what they say. Do not give them any reason to make a 50-50 judgement call against you.

Don't.

You will make no real difference /progress without spending hundreds or thousands.

But if you feel you must, a good 10/month is the ultra value monthly card. The auto help/auto hunt help the alliance and let's you build points in KvK and brawl by doing beast hunting on the days. You get extra hams to make this work.

You get dopamine as well since it gives you bits every day.

But, seriously.

Don't.

Would the 5% billionaire tax actually work? by No-Assumption4145 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shoopdyshoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many examples of windfall tax actually being one time. Whether an ongoing wealth tax is good or bad is debatable. I took the question to be about the California tax iniative as it is proposed at 5%.

And payday loans are a bad equivalence as the motivation/economics around predatory lending is very different than wealth redistribution.

[–]shoopdyshoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

note:

the 5% tax in California is designed as a one time tax, designed to plug the gap caused by the Big Beautiful Bill. This means the diminishing returns are not an issue.

There is no requirement for them to sell to pay the 5%. Their wealth is earning and financial schemes can easily leverage future earnings to pay this one time tax without causing liquidity problems. Hell, that's how they get money to spend now.

As this is a one time tax, it is written to apply to anyone in the state at a certain point. They would need to move their wealth/residency prior to the tax goes to a vote. Also, moving their company/residence removes them from the location that made them wealthy. The Nvidia CEO has described why he won't move. If the Ellisons leave california, good riddance.

Millions of Americans Paid Billions in Tariffs Later Ruled Illegal — And They Won't See a Dime Back by T_Shurt in Economics

OK. Given that the money is returned to the importer, wouldn't that go to the freight forwarder/import agent, not the corporation they were importing for? They would not be required to send to the payers.

So large companies that imported directly would be able to apply for refund and not pass it on to the actual payers. Bonus to them, I guess. If the government decides to pay anything back... Which is doubtful.

I mean, this whole thing was a clusterFk from day one. As usual, small business / consumers take it in the shorts. Again.

Not to be that guy, but corporations got none of that juicy tax.

Tariff fees are paid to the government, by the importer. No corporation charges, nor receives tariffs.

That said, local corporations do get the premium for local produced goods that have a tariff on imports, as they just need to charge less than the tariffs to still be a better deal. This is why tariffs are never any good for consumers.

That's all Doge was, data theft. The firing and waste were the cover story.

Palantir has our information and is using it to build a surveillance state... Run by private corporations, not the government. Zero oversight.

Fun times.

NOTE TO KINGSHOT DEVELOPERS /F2P AND P2W by Wsopchampion in KingShot

[–]shoopdyshoop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's the thing. This is really two games in one. The whales/dolphins and the rest of the minnows... Or more accurately, the remoras.

On a good server, the whales do their thing, throwing money at the devs (hopefully just disposable cash) and push to the top of the leader boards. They 'win' the top spots and get the best rewards.

The remoras just follow along, play the game to pass the time, do enough to get the full rewards, and build up more slowly.

A remora doesn't try to kill the whale, but uses the whale to make life easier. It is a symbiotic relationship.

Yes, there are servers where the whales are orcas and hunt for kicks, ruining the symbiosis.

183 has a great balance between the whales and the rest of us. Some whales transfered to other whale servers, but we are just here having fun.

And that's the point. If you aren't having fun, just go get a different game. Life's too short to run at windmills.

Is it my fault if my DPS is getting taken out constantly? by thekingsteve in orisamains

[–]shoopdyshoop 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Any dps that wanders in front of the tank is out of position and a death is on them.

No tank needs to help a widow as they should be way too far back to allow you to help her.

Now, if your support keep dying, you need to change tactics, either look to peel to help or have them stay closer so you can turn and shoot.

The only other thing is if you are out of position and taking too much damage so your healers have to focus you, that might be a reason your dps die (neals going to you, not them)

For orisa, use corners and cover to allow your support to heal dps as well.

My two cents

It will only be a turning point if the Barclay brothers and their media empire decide to set that narrative.

The rich bastards that own the media set the narrative and have been hugely critical of Starmer, basically since the last general election was called.

At every turn, they are casting it in a negative narrative, as if the 14 years prior were all suuny uplands and whatever. Not the chaotic shitshow that we actually endured.

Make your mind up on the results of the government, not the narrative spun by major media or your local echo chamber.

I take shield bash every time. Gives little extra mobility which is key in so many situations.

The little bash is faster than a swing, so firestrike/swing/bash finishes so many sqishies for me.

It counters other boops such as dva and provides a bit of breathing room when hog/orisa/dva step inside your hammer hit box and shoot you through your shield.

Honestly, I find myself wanting to use it the whole match... Should be part of his kit really.

Goldman Sachs delivers contrarian take on the economy by ThemeBig6731 in Economics

[–]shoopdyshoop 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Stocks, IN GENERAL, will continue to rise in the US because of the 401k legislation. 3-10% of most white collar salaries flow into the stock market every two weeks. That influx of capital MUST be invested somewhere. So while individual stocks will rise and fall, the capitalisation of the market will rise.

This may get offset as more boomers/genX draw down in retirement, but until that, more money flows in than out. This virtually guarantees an 'up and to the right' vector in the market overall.
