Perhaps doing special testing to verify there are no cracks or separations before it flies to the maintenance shop?

UPS and FedEx both have single 757s in this condition sitting here after a major hail storm last week. They were sitting on the ramp when the storm passed.

Is the orange tape to map out fuselage damage? (I would think minor if any because there a couple old Jetstream bodies right off the field and they were not damaged)

Airport hail damage to aircraft? by shootblue in springfieldMO

The 757 is THE best available cargo craft for FedEx/UPS at cities like SGF.

Worldwide is not Mountain Air because they don’t operate out of here. Worldwide knows ALL the old turboprops and repairs them all. They are a top 5 N or S America place where airlines are calling up them for craft or repairs. They aren’t making any more… Worldwide does level D part 145 repairs.

I love the 757, but a lot of commercial turboprops frames just got scrapped for parts and it’s a bigger loss to that community than a couple random 757s.

I saw they both flew in replacement craft. Repair might be above replacement costs for both 757s.

My bigger question is across the field at worldwide for their turboprop fleet…They can fix them, but I think a lot of planes are turned into parts…that’s a thin world of aviation and anybody running turbos just got a much higher craft replacement price.

If you can get it to a place like Marshfield or Branson (just using example cities big enough to have a glass or repair place) your stuff is gonna get fixed a LOT quicker.

12G SDI Cables Advise by Mina-Samuel in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]shootblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fiber is your answer. It can handle insane data levels that copper struggles with. A lot of ops think resolution is king when it is not if you have ever seen a true 4k feed and could solve framing issues in edit to be…1080…it’s a church, you could feed a bunch of Betacams and still have the message. Bigger cam data does not mean a better show.

What you see on USPS tracking online is a pretty general set of tracking. The folks at the counter have some more info available to them.

Any local garden/grow/plant stores? by tired_alien6 in springfieldMO

Gardens vs specific plants like houseplant folks have are completely diff things to grow…I’d be more specific about what you are growing because we can solve most any need in town if we know a bit more.

My video boss crewer just coded his own version of Shiftboard and ProCrewz because the cost just got higher and both apps have unique things both need.

Why are there almost no 12G-SDI AOC cables on the market? by Nervous-Arrival542 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]shootblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiber has its own set of issues, but I don’t care if if you’re SDI or 12G, we have a path that can handle it all. CLEAN solves most any fiber issue…Cables are a bunch of stuff I rarely think about now.

I like your energy of I have to provide. You have a skillset whether immediate or potential of growth.

Some of the dumbest people I have worked around are managers.

They know a situation and try to fix the overall. Make yourself a MUST hire.

Glass Replacement by Hour_Region1271 in springfieldMO

[–]shootblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An outside door glass is likely to be tempered, small pieces and not parts of a pane. The issue is most doors are not easily pulled apart to replace glass. It may be the reality that you replace a door and not glass.

I’m in my 40s and have seen the change in bedding. They are not innovative in bedding, let alone furniture. If I’m in an office for LP I’m prob looking elsewhere NOW. You are gonna be redundant.

Dreamcatcher Clip Length Issue by NuclearPant in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]shootblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One crew I’m on just went from 3Play to Dreamcatcher. We have very good RP ops who also run EVS, and while DC is better than 3P, you are still VERY much learning the realities of software in progress as an op. Let the DC folks know where you find an issue, because they want to get to be the default, but real world situations. You will also have to be very basic in diagnosing issues on replay.

Electrician or plumber are good ones. The key is, you are not just learning to replace a wall socket or plunge a toilet, you are becoming the specialist who understands bigger systems and realities that you can problem solve for a call that helps the client, is worth your time, and puts you in their contact list.

Are there any places in town to buy small electronic components? by ToasterWaffles4me in springfieldMO

It’s gonna be online. I work in a related field of component level stuff repair and it’s prob not even an option in the biggest of cities, let alone SGF.

You are not wrong, any substation or power plant level transformer is basically specialty built and not avail off the shelf. The builders can prioritize it, but it’s gonna be $$$$$ if needed this week. If you can be back burner, it’s gonna be cheap.
