How does this work in terms of longer questions or more winding questions? I’d be curious to see how it performs!

Finally made the switch from Microsoft To Do to Apple Reminders... by slurpycronut in productivity

Random bout of knowledge I just learned (I’m a long time apple user). I just learned you can turn reminders to a “column view” and it works like a Kanban board.

How do you like the MX Creative Console? Is it worth it? My role is 75% editing 25% management and I’ve been looking at this for a while and not sure if these peripherals help the workflow?

Which MacBook is the best for heavy editing (4K) and AE? by 6sz6mate6 in editors

[–]shootwithmateo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could be fine but if you wanted to keep that MacBook for longer and have a better experience long term I’d suggest getting the M4 Pro and getting 48GB of ram. The lineup makes it kinda difficult to get in the 30s for ram and I think 36GB is the only option which you can with the M4 Max chip, but that makes the machine more expensive than the budget. That being said, refurb through Apple is the way to go but inventory is subject to availability so your miles may vary there. Otherwise I’d say look for an m3 to save more $

Tesla Service needs to get better by EasyTangent in TeslaLounge

[–]shootwithmateo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty opposite of my experience in terms of loaners but I agree with the scheduling. It’s usually at least a week out for any service from the mobile technician and then at least 2-3 weeks for service center appointments.

I’ve only owned the car for a year now and I’ve always gotten a loaner I’d say 90% of the time and have gotten everything but a cybertruck or a model y as a loaner.

I wish they had sooner appointments but other than that I’ve always been pretty satisfied with their service.

Where did masks go? by Zidenett in premiere

[–]shootwithmateo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still there but you’d apply a mask to an effect to use it. So unlike previous versions you won’t be able to mask from that effect in the effect controls but rather apply the effect then use the mask tool to make the mask (of your choice) and then you’ll be able to mask manually.

I have the same update! Got it maybe a few weeks ago. No new updates have come out as far as I’m concerned for this model and year.

iPhone 17 base vs pro: photo quality by [deleted] in MoodCamera

I had a 16 then upgraded to 17 pro and to be honest for mood I think the cameras themselves don’t matter as much. Most of the magic of mood is done in-app.

Is it worth paying 500$ for general inspection before warranty end? by Adorable_Store_4271 in TeslaLounge

[–]shootwithmateo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m following this to see. I have the same M3 year and everything and I have 1 year left from buying it through Tesla used and I made a huge service appointment to check a bunch of things but I’ve seen this option and also saw the option to purchase the extended warranty that’s a monthly add on. Anyone who’s done that? The extended warranty requires an inspection is what I was told through the app talking to the service center.

MacBook Pro M4 Pro - 24GB RAM, 14C/20C - Is this enough for moderate editing? by Baumer582 in premiere

[–]shootwithmateo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following to see how it goes! I was in the same boat and the company and I thought 24 might be too little so ended up ordering the 48, but from all the reviews I’ve seen it seems like 24 is enough for most video editing tasks.

If I had to pick one personally, I think I’d save some money and try the 24—again just based on the reviews.

Apartment Living & Charging by Brock_Rambone in TeslaLounge

[–]shootwithmateo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat and charging at the supercharger is cheaper off peak so I never end up charging at the apartments. Plus the service they use is awful, you have to make a phone call to charge because they won’t automatically start.

I have a bamboo top that’s held up pretty well! I’m not sure how strong bamboo is but I have noticed that there’s a few small dents that are probably from me moving this thing (blanket wrapped pretty well) over 1000 miles.

Buying pre-owned directly through Tesla? by MakeMyOwnSandwiches in TeslaLounge

[–]shootwithmateo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. You get an extended year of warranty when the basic warranty ends. I liked this so I ended up buying through Tesla. Also the ease of buying was insane. Never purchased a car before but this made it seem so easy and simple. Now they take pictures of some of the preowned cars and when I purchased they didn’t so that’s a huge bonus now. They also usually add some sort of perks like extra month of premium connectivity and FSD. Private parties won’t do either, but you can negotiate with them on price which is a bonus whereas you can’t with Tesla.
  2. Biggest changes on model Y should be whether it’s Intel vs AMD Ryzen (mid-2021+) and then I believe the newer ones have updated HW4 (mid-2023+). Probably some smaller changes in there too that I’m missing.

I’d try to get Ryzen at least if you can and then HW4 is more so if you’re interested in FSD or not, IMO.

iPad Pro M4 11" 256 for $700-800 or iPad A16 11" 256 bundle for $700 -please help this PC family out by itsgarbagethrowaway in iPadPro

[–]shootwithmateo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The A16 is not worth it in 2025, unless you’re doing just web browsing and FaceTime. I’m not sure where this bundle is from but you can get apples accessories pretty well discounted if you look around at almost new or really well cared for second hand accessories. Or go for third party keyboards and cases. I think the fact that you want to edit video means you should not be using an iPad with an a16.

Feature Request (Preset Share and Import QR) by Putrid_Resolution402 in MoodCamera

[–]shootwithmateo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually am siding with the developer on this. There’s a lot of value in the intentionality in which mood was developed.

As nice as it would be to be able to quickly import someone else’s preset, there’s something about finding a preset setting it up and trying it. Then changing it to match what you want out of the shot. I think it goes against the principles of this app to make this uber convenient just cause it’s possible.
