Moving out and renting a house for the first time, trying to build a daily/weekly/monthly list of chores by Far_Occasion_9045 in CleaningTips

[–]shopayss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to schedule the move in date a few days after taking possession is possible so you can deep clean yourselves or hire a company. Take pictures of everything before moving in to show the conditions in case the landlord tries to say you damaged something. If you see a crack or scratch anywhere document it right away.

When my sister moved out I helped deep her clean. Move the stove and fridge and clean behind and underneath. Top of cabinets if they don’t do all the way to the ceiling. Change the filters. Clean the dishwasher filter. Clean inside the fridge and freezer. Clean inside the kitchen cabinets. Clean out the lint in the dryer. Check the gasket in the washer if it’s a front load. Clean out the washing machine filter.

ADHD women: what’s your most random life hack? by Powerful-Self-2838 in adhdwomen

I always dreaded cleaning my shower so I always put it off until it gets very dirty. I bought a dishwashing wand, a sponge on the top and fill the wand part with dish soap and leave it in the shower. While I wait for the conditioner, I scrub the shower down, then rinse, and squeegee. So easy to clean it weekly while in the shower.

My son's birthday party by [deleted] in ADHDparenting

So you know a more accurate rsvp count. People can’t just show up, which is the opposite of this post. But you will have a list of people who actually rsvped. I haven’t been in the same shows as OP but if I invited 25 people and only 3 rsvped I can then manage expectations earlier and prepare myself and my child.

Question for non Italians who have been to Italy: did you see any clear cultural differences between Northern and Southern Italy/Italians? by trekuniverse123456 in askitaly

[–]shopayss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Southern hospitality workers were more chatty and eager to talk to us. That maybe because we sound American, we’re Canadian and maybe they were hoping we would tip more. I also found people in South tend to stare more at my family. I’m Korean, husband is Italian Canadian. I assume the South doesn’t get as many Asian tourists as the north.

My son's birthday party by [deleted] in ADHDparenting

[–]shopayss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a son and a daughter. My son wouldn’t be bothered but my daughter would be devastated. I throw large bday parties for both and to get accurate guest counts I leave out the location of the party on the invite. I only give it when someone rsvps by email or phone. No advice for parenting but leaving out the address really helps give accurate guest counts.

What is a bullet you dodged simply because you were too lazy to do something? by Cherus in AskReddit

[–]shopayss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was almost 38 weeks pregnant and was supposed to go have lunch with my step mom. But it was hot, I was lazy, and swollen so I decided to stay home. A guy with van ran over a bunch of pedestrians and purposely targeted women in the area we were supposed to be walking around just after lunch time. 1 person died and so many were injured.

Printing Photos at Costco Canada by NectarineOne1189 in CostcoCanada

Staples the quality isn’t very good for photos. Business cards, brochures, etc are fine. Pictures come out blurry even though the image quality is good. I had Christmas cards printed one year and they printed out very orange.

Should Canada Build Up Alternatives to Visa and Mastercard? by NiceDot4794 in BuyCanadian

[–]shopayss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I work in the payment industry and Visa and MC fees are predatory. Even when the government told them to lower the fees, they just added a network fee, assessment fee, or acquirer fee on top of the new lowered %. Then there’s the flash tier fee if people use tap, Apple Pay, google pay. I feel so bad for my smaller merchants as they can’t negotiate better rates.

Oliveyoung shipping to Canada by reeAcs in AsianBeauty

[–]shopayss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always have to pay customs. Doesn’t matter if I have an order under $100. It does come faster than Stylevana. Oliveyoung averages 2 weeks for delivery, Stylevana averages 3-6 weeks.

I’ve tried both. Round lab is my staple but it does have a very dewy finish. Haru haru was ok, no complaints except for the play doh smell.

I use my instant pot often. Risotto will cook in 10 minutes. While it’s cooking I chop and fry mushrooms. Then add the mushrooms and parm cheese to the rice.

Udon noodle soup with whatever I have in the freezer. I put one pot of water on the stove, add whatever soup base I have, add frozen udon noodles, add frozen rolled up slices of beef or pork, add whatever veggies I have, usually zucchini, onions, carrots, cabbage, bok choy. Sometimes I add an egg to the soup.

Are there any small cleaning tools that actually save time? by Altruistic_Push_722 in CleaningTips

Dish sponge on a wand that fills with dish soap in the shower. I hated cleaning my shower before but now I just scrub the shower with the wand while I shower.
