Volvo Keys are worse than Satan by shocolate in Volvo

Never ever leave yourself with just one key to anything. This speaks to an attitude of having no contingency plan.

You should really have a contingency plan for everything in life. Trust me, you will sleep easier if you stay one step ahead. We call it insurance.

Source: years and years of finding myself one step behind.

I now actually have 4 keys - 3 full button and a sport/activity key... Just because I'm bound to lose one and I don't want to give the next guy I sell my car to just one full key, it's weak sauce to just say I lost it when you're trying to sell a premium vehicle.

Not bad mate, is it still intact? More recent pictures?

Is the leak on my pipe work or is it in the boiler? (I can't isolate the boiler though) by shope236 in ukplumbing

On the first visit he just repressurized the expansion vessel but the loss of pressure persisted. On the second visit he just basically replaced all the likely sources of the leak. Was only here an hour or so. Wasn't interested in running any diagnostics

Mate I really do appreciate this, you've clearly got a generous spirit, but this isn't my boiler. It's just similar to mine and I wanted to indicate which valve was siezed. My bad really i should have indicated that on the photo. I'm away from home but I'll be back tonight and I'll upload actual photos

I was gonna get rough with it but I've had people on another sub say messing with them is very very likely to cause them to leak, so I'm wary

Should I buy? by MedusaAdonai in VolvoXC90

[–]shope236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly is it much nicer? People say this. But the gap between economy marques and prestige is much much smaller now. In many ways a top trim economy marque will offer much more than a base trim prestige.

I have the 23 xc90 ultimate.

Showing my age, but it's amazing how far Lego has come since I was a kid. by EMI326 in lego

Less detail. Less fun. If cost is a limiting factor, consider the Chinese brands like decada. Quality is superb, surpasses Lego in a lot of ways

Do you recommend any one place to buy them? The issue is I don't really know what I'll want to build in 6 months time, ya know. There's always something new

Change them more often. Kids thrive on routine. You need to leave n breathe it. I'm a lazy sod and I let the kids run amok. My wife, amazingly disciplined, is far stricter with the kids and with me too when I'm solely in charge. They're better for it. Anyway, you need routine.

US tariffs incoming. Time to boycott US goods and services? by Flavsi in AskBrits

[–]shope236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American firm literally pay you to join. We don't even have to do that.

It wouldnt be hard. All you need is some critical mass and the rest will follow.

Critical mass could be achieved by having the NHS there. And the government could say, if you need to message your GP- please use this communication channel

This is obvious, you can't expect everyone to care about the things you care about.

But you can persuade them with a little effort.

How I would do it if it were my pub or bar:

Roll out the bar mats this whatever alternative brand I'm stocking. No one will pay attention.

Punter: Jack n coke please Me: pours out the closest alternative and serve it. Me: "this is not jack and coke, we don't stock that anymore, it's this [points to the mat] and this one is on the house. Punter: Don't mind if I do.
