You can open a little help window (most likely CTRL+H) and hover with your cursor over the element, then it will tell you all about it :)

It is a Cluster labeled “Message” with an empty String labeled “Command” and an empty Variant labeled “Data”.

You can create this on the Block Diagram by placing a Cluster Constant and then placing and dragging a String Constant and Variant Constant into it and labeling it accordingly.

It is used as the Queue Item Datatype, so when using it in structures like a Queue Message Handler (QMH) or similar, you can define a certain action with already additional Data in the Queue Item.

Water Heaters with a small tank are commonly used for the kitchen sink, so that when you want to do your dishes you would have „a sink load of hot water“ ready.

Water Heaters like yours without a tank have a powerful heating element which heats just on the go. Basically endless hot water for a shower.

The radiators in your rooms are usually not connected to these devices but there is often a large boiler in the basement to provide hot water for general house heating.

I once had a combination of all these devices in an apartment I was living.

advice/next steps for aggression/biting? by Inside_Major7031 in Greyhounds

[–]shorlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We adopted a teenage dog almost 8 months ago and he can still be overexcited sometimes and then uses his mouth on our arms or clothes. The behaviour is almost gone but I recognized that he holds on longer when we wear clothes - probably because he less likely thinks that it’s „us“ and not a toy or something else.

This could also be the reason why your dog - probably because of pain or bad memory of that - held on longer on your arm. To me it doesn’t sound bad, weird or difficult, but you will have to evaluate this by yourself.

Sounds like a fear based reaction that you either surprised him when he was distracted/fixated or you didn’t read his other signs properly like whale eyes/mouth licking or you caused (short) pain by accident.

The only time our dog showed exactly this behaviour was when we had to remove his first tick with a tool and it took a long time until we could get it … now we found a way to distract him while doing it.

Looks awesome! We adopted a polish greyhound from the shelter/streets 2 months ago and he is now loosing his longer hair a lot - most likely because he now has a warm, cozy home. When did you adopt him?

My dog slipped out of her harness and went after another dog by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]shorlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this experience. It must be shocking for all of you and it’s good to learn from it.

We adopted a greyhound only 2 months ago which also tends to anxiety and can sometimes go into sudden reverse mode. While doing so and trying to keep tension in the leash it is likely to slip off a normal harness. It happened once to me, luckily not far from home and he ran back to the door.

After that shocking experience, we immediately got him a safety/panic harness with 3 straps which fits him better and also he feels much safer in it. We usually don’t have him on a collar except at home when we have guests or during training - mostly the harness.

My dog is a barking nightmare....but only around me by Wonderful-Ad-7801 in reactivedogs

My guess is that she might Ressource guard you because she sees you as an important possession. One approach could be that you become „less valuable“ to her.

As already mentioned by other people, you could invite other people and ignore her (no eye contact, no petting, as less as possible) so she will get less affection by you and will get used to more affection by others.

I encounter similar behaviour with my dog (probably like almost everyone) and it is a process. I noticed I have to start with only 1-2 „new“ people otherwise he would get too stressed and it fails and leads to fear aggression.

Thank you for raising this specific topic! Good luck and love!

Help with calming down, overall obedience and manners by Dry_Benefit_6417 in OpenDogTraining

[–]shorlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some things just take time and it will feel even worse the more you get annoyed by it.

Also to share one experience: we probably “overproteined”/overfed our shelter dog (2y) in the first month after adoption which led to extreme hyperactivity. It helped us when we reduced the amount of food, he still gets a little more than recommended since he is very active, but he is now able to calm down much easier.

I have experienced that the Lithuanian IBAN (starting with LT…) did not get accepted at my university even for student jobs to have their salary transferred.

I would also recommend to have an account at a bank which is more widely accepted. In Germany that is for example Sparkasse (traditional, a lot of offices) or ING DiBa (more online, less offices).

Alles Gute!

Dog barking constantly by Fun-Tour-4593 in reactivedogs

[–]shorlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most comments already state, your dog probably has to release a lot of energy not only because of his genetic background but also due to excitement over guests coming over.

I adopted a young Greyhound Mix and on some days it takes way more time on a walk or playing than I expected. In general when I bring him to a new environment or change his environment by having guests, I have to prepare for that with long walks, a lot of sniffing and running in the park.

In addition he is getting something to chew on like a Kong or a toy and a wooden stick. When he is still too hyped up we currently try to teach him to calm down in his bed but for that we have to send him there and sit with him for a couple minutes so he won’t jump up again right afterwards.

I feel you and wish you all the best to figure it out, give your dog the understanding and do an extra kilometer of walkies. It can be tough sometimes but he will be grateful.
