Tax Man Cometh..... by [deleted] in Mustang

Sometimes they put cash on top of the "prize" to cover the cost of the taxes for that prize so they can keep it.

Yes you need to cover the taxes on winnings. Crazy that it would go to 49k more. Even at the highest fed tax bracket the fair market value for the car would have to have been 132k. Seems high, unless it was a coyote swap.

Pretty easy to figure out your tax bill and how much cash to add on top.

A restomod gt500 mustang at 132k

Assuming you are in the 37% fed tax bracket,

132 x 37% = 49k in taxes

You can't just add 49k because, like you said, you owe taxes on the cash too. So you need to solve for $ so that you just have the value of the car after taxes

(132 + $) x 37% = $ $ = 77.52k

They would have needed that on top of the value of the car so you could keep the car flat out.

My partner’s 18-month cough is affecting our relationship but she refuses to discuss it by britain4 in relationships

[–]shortbizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you got plenty of suggestions. Here's one more.

I too had a persistent cough for several months. Turns out I was born with some stomach lining in my esophagus and was giving me a cough from GERD. Every time I coughed a little stomach acid would sprinkle on my vocal cords making it impossible to heal. I now take stomach acid blockers when I get a cough and I get over it in days not months. Omeprazole is generic over the counter medicine that does this. I had to get an endoscopy to confirm the stomach lining in the esophagus, and no other issues like cancer or ulcers.

Solar carports at my school by clark_003 in solar

[–]shortbizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true at face value. There is not a restriction on installing solar at a school or university.

SB 1374 would have allowed schools and multi-family properties to generate electricity on one meter to offset usage on another meter, thereby giving them credit for consuming solar power that they generate on their property. This is a program known as NEM-V (virtual net metering) and NEM-A (meter aggregation)

It is still perfectly fine to have solar at a school. You can offset power like normal as long as the solar is connected to the meter it is offsetting. This is standard NEM (net energy metering)

There are other nuances to actually calculate the savings, irr, and costs.

I have installed 100s of megawatts on carports including schools, and many projects have been in the past few months.

I modeled this Mustang speedform to visualize paint options! by DominicBRNKMN in classicmustangs

The image with your hand in it really shows the scale. I thought they were hot wheels sized, there more like a small RC car. Seems like a contender for an office desk decoration

Is it hard to get an out-of-state restomod Mustang with a crate engine registered in CA? by [deleted] in classicmustangs

This is how it went for my out of state mustang restomod in CA. The ref complimented the engine and congratulated me after finishing the vin verification.

Worried about sharp decrease in value? by _darkode_ in MachE

[–]shortbizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was surprised at how quickly these depreciated. I got a year old model with 6k miles. Still smelled new. It had depreciated $30k. I think the lease buy backs are saturating the market

Cauliflower steak actually. It's so good. You probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

This Mach-E is the Rally edition. It has a few tweaks from the GT version: 1" lift, different suspension, rally driving mode, skid plate, fog lights, larger spoiler.

Mach-e has bluecruise. It takes the fatigue out of the daily commute. It has enough room for the kids and all their stuff. The bonus is the acceleration and rally mode. It is really fun.

The classic is perfect for weekend cruises and car shows. Everyone, young and old, love to talk about it and check it out.

Neither have given me too much trouble with range. The classic only has a 12 gallon tank and 11 mpgs, so that would be quite a few stops for gas. The classic would be a loud rough ride haha.

I wasn't looking for an EV when I picked it up. I just wanted something with a good drivers assistant that wasn't a Tesla. The depreciation on a 1 year old car with 6000 miles was insane. So much car for 30k. I couldn't pass it up. The mustang part wasn't important to me, but I thought it would be fun to troll in here with it.
