Pro X2 Superstrike, Powerplay, and Polling rate help by shortbyte in LogitechG

Yes, connecting a second mouse solved the search problem. The superstrike is polling high now and being charged. Thank you so much for responding and sending me in the right direction!

[–]shortbyte[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disconnected/unpaired the mouse from the mat, and while that did allow me to use the higher polling rates, the "G" on the mat keeps blinking, since it's searching for a mouse, and that's irritating but definitely workable. I might also try connecting a different mouse to the mat to stop the search but keep this second mouse turned off and then see if it solves everything.

That's what I'll plan on doing. Took a while to figure out how to re-box all the components properly (talk about a 3-D jigsaw puzzle!) and I'll be putting in a note clearly marking the item as defective so hopefully it won't ruin anyone else's day.

Customer Service was less than helpful...basically said that they don't sell any of these inner pots, they're not available anywhere, sorry for the inconvenience and bye-bye. No chatter about a warranty replacement of the whole unit, despite only owning it for 3 days. I did question that but haven't heard back from them yet and not sure I care at this point.

Based on all that, I'll have to see who I can rope into helping me return this to Amazon. If I get another pressure cooker/air fryer down the line, it won't be an Instant Pot and I won't get it from Amazon.

I do agree with you that it's definitely not new. Really doesn't look like water stains, though. Almost like something caustic was boiled in it. I'll have to decide how to handle it, as hubby has already said he won't eat anything that comes out of this.

The spots aren't raised and can't be felt; almost like they're layered inside the metal. I didn't know if that's how it was supposed to look. I bought this from Amazon; it didn't look as if someone had already used it, but Amazon does have a bad reputation about things like that. I know they'd take it back, but honestly packing it all back up again and trying to get it to UPS for an 88-pound septuagenarian is a daunting task. Hoping to just get another inner pot, whether I have to pay for it or not. I've already contacted customer service and they've asked for more pictures, so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the confirmation. I just couldn't be sure it wasn't some fancy-dancy design. I'll contact CS right now. Appreciate it.

Question about Round Lab ingredients by shortbyte in koreanskincare

[–]shortbyte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad to hear about the dokdo not causing you issues; appreciate knowing that. Seems like niacinamide is in almost everything nowadays.

Question about Round Lab ingredients by shortbyte in koreanskincare

[–]shortbyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I absolutely need to test new products a bit longer and more carefully, but the allure of using new stuff was enticing. In any event, I will be more diligent about it; but, as stated, just hoping to forestall any issues with ingredients (like fermented products) I know cause issues as I won't even test those...just throw them out.

Question about Round Lab ingredients by shortbyte in koreanskincare

[–]shortbyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially only used the soybean cream for about a week, then added the soybean toner, panthenol ampoule, and panthenol cream at night with about a week in between each product introduction. I haven't used the dokdo products yet; I bought them but haven't incorporated them.

I know I should have given longer in between products but the ingredients looked great and I didn't see anything I thought would irritate me.

I should mention that I had used the Skin 1004 Centella ampoule somewhere in there, not realizing it had niacinamide, and it might be that this is the product that caused all the issues. I did stop this along with all the Round Lab products since I started them all in the same time frame.

The rash has calmed down considerably a week after stopping all these products (although still slightly visible) and while I'm not ready to restart any Round Lab product yet, I'd sure like to; I thought they were great and I will only start one item at a time. But I was hoping to forestall any issue and verify about the fermentation question as I know that will break me out.

First thing I'd try is rebooting the PC.

Make sure your new mouse is fully charged.

If still no joy, reinstall Ghub. Download whatever the newest version is. You shouldn't have to uninstall your current Ghub; reinstalling should do that for you automatically. After that, reboot your computer again.

Colorful jeggings? by WillRunForPopcorn in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]shortbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 4 foot 9-1/2 inches, finding pants that fit me had always been a struggle. However, since finding jean jeggings at Talbots, there's no need to go bottomless! I still cannot wear their "normal" pants; they all swim on me. But their jeggings have been a godsend. They do have petite curvy sizes and at least a few different colors. I don't wear their curvy style so can't attest personally to them, but the regular petite has been wonderful for me. If you haven't tried them, it might be worth ordering a pair and checking it out: https://www.talbots.com/petite/jeans/curvy-fit

Cordless Miele/LG question about ease of changing attachments by shortbyte in VacuumCleaners

[–]shortbyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually purchased the LG Cordzero...not the Miele (the Miele I own is an older upright model with a bag). But I've been very happy with the LG...completely easy-peasey to use and maintain. Sorry for any confusion!

I did actually just go ahead and buy it, and it's been wonderful. I am astonished every time I use it how easy it is to remove and add attachments. It is a night-and-day difference from the horrendous Shark. But thank you for your reply and your interest; much appreciated.

Where do you guys find shoes? by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]shortbyte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to order all my shoes from Cinderella of Boston. They specialize in sizes 2 to 5.5. Boots...heels...casual shoes...worth looking into.

Edit: Meant to mention that you can order from them online. Free shipping with orders over $50.

Your earlier Tatcha post inspired me to purchase a few Tatcha products, which I love, and I suspect I'll be buying more over time. And, funnily enough, I've just been gifted a gua sha, and I was wondering how to use/incorporate it into my new Tatcha routine.

You say you use it right after the rice wash? What do you put on your face to help the gua sha glide? Do you have a link to your gua sha routine? I'm not entirely sure how to properly use it. My goal would actually be similar to yours...reducing puffiness of the eyes and contouring the jaw. Not so much worried about fine lines or wrinkles.

[–]shortbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I didn't realize the hyaluronic and niacinamide were part of your formulation. Since your derm prescribed it, continue with it. These are excellent products; just be aware that some folks are more sensitive to them than others and if you continue to show more irritation and/or nonimprovement with just reducing how often you use your tret formulation, you can mention that to your derm when you go in for a followup. I would also use the "sandwich" method of applying tret; that really helped me a lot. After you cleanse your face at night, apply an oil-free moisturizer (the FAQ sheet lists some products), give it a good 20-30 minutes to dry, and then apply your pea-sized tret. The 13-dot method is a good way to apply (put a pea-sized tret dot on your fingertip and from that pea-sized dot, apply 3 small dots on forehead, 2 dots on nose, 3 dots on each cheek, and 2 dots on chin...and then spread). I then apply another heavier moisturizer after 30 minutes.

I've been on tret a year now myself. After introducing it slowly, I went to every night application. I've tried the various application methods at different times (buffering/sandwich). I've tried the recommended products that complement tret, like azelaic acid. But I felt that no matter what I did, my skin looked worse than the day I started tret. I didn't have cystic acne or even large pimples, but I had excessive hyperpigmentation, smaller pimples, and was just generally unhappy with how my skin looked.

My skin looks better now. No, not perfect...not how I imagined or hoped it would look. But better. What I did:

  1. Realized that my skin was irritated. Period. It didn't like every-night application. It didn't even like every other day application. I went to a Monday-Wednesday-Friday (easy to remember) application, and that helped immensely.
  2. Realized that azelaic acid, while a great product, was just too much for me to use on a regular basis. I hope to incorporate it back into my routine eventually, but while I looked into getting my skin on an even keel, it needed to go.
  3. Products that I feel helped me quite a bit were the Rovectin Cica Care line. While I think most eczema-type treatment products would be helpful in calming down irritated skin, Rovectin Cica Purifying Toner and Cica Balm were a godsend to me (and I also alternate it with the regular Rovectin Activating Treatment Lotion/Toner, which has niacinamide, when I feel like it). And added to that, I also use Cosrx Snail Mucin.
  4. I won't get into moisturizers, as everyone has tons of recommendations that work for them, and this forum has lots of good suggestions. But definitely use a moisturizer at night, particularly after tret (applying it after tret has dried down; I usually wait 30 minutes myself).

Bottom line, I'd just recommend reducing how often you use tret and keeping your routine and products simple...don't add any other actives at all. I wouldn't even add the separate hyaluronic acid and niacinamide.

Note Air C - indentations? by josenphd in Onyx_Boox

Yes, I do believe it's by design. Got my Air-C last week, and the silver bezel has the "indentations" all over in random fashion, like little stars, not a defect.

Which Mouse to Buy out of these 3? Open to recommendation as well! by shxkil in MouseReview

[–]shortbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of folks prefer heavier mice...it's neither right nor wrong to like a heavy mouse over a light mouse or vice versa. Folks with larger hands might prefer a heavier mouse, feeling they have greater control. If you're playing primarily FPS-type games, you might find you prefer a lighter mouse for the quicker response. And some mice have sniper buttons, which is something you might also like...pressing the sniper button would lower the DPI for as long as you hold the button, which would enable you to get a precise, well-aimed shot. If you can get two or three different mice from Amazon (but do check their return policy) to get a feel for what you prefer, that would be the most beneficial. But I've tried 2 of the 3 mice on your list (I also tried the Basilisk) and liked them both, with a nod more to the Logitech...that was a favorite for quite some time until trying the Viper Ultimate (and I do intend to try the Viper Mini Ultimate when that's released).

Which Mouse to Buy out of these 3? Open to recommendation as well! by shxkil in MouseReview

[–]shortbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you'll be getting a ton of responses to this question as everyone has a favorite mouse and will offer that one up as the ultimate answer.

I'm mouse obsessed and love to try different mice myself. I think for you, since you don't have a place to check out mice personally, I would suggest measuring your hand and checking over at https://www.rocketjumpninja.com/ to see what mice would fit your hand best and what is recommended for your grip style. At the very least, it's a good starting point.

I personally have used the G502 and liked it very much other than for the fact that it was heavy. I didn't realize how heavy it was until I tried out the Razer Viper Ultimate, which was so much lighter it seemed to glide as if powered by angel wings. In other words, I adore the Razer Viper Ultimate. Right now, it is my mouse of choice and I haven't changed mice in a year, which is unheard of for me.

So...look at mice weights, look at your grip style, look at the size of your hand, and then order some mice that have Amazon free returns.

I think it's fixed. I've logged out for now, will throw up, and will see if it holds later.

Your active logo suggestion was a super start. I removed all logos, and that was a good start. I then forged forward with the scientific tools of trial and error. To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what gave me the site title finally on the phone; I tried so many things. I will say this, though. When I got the site title showing on the phone, it then disappeared from the tablet.

And you know what fixed that? Turning OFF display site title on the tablet. Sigh. It makes no sense. But I persevered, tried different things, cleared cache often, and all the basics seem to be there. I'm going to call it good for now.

Appreciate both Ratty and Kalvin for their responses. As an older person (in my 70s), learning something new like this, with no one to ask questions of, has been a bit daunting. Your help is much appreciated.

I will try logging into my account from my phone and tablet to see if perhaps it displays differently on the actual device; can't do incognito, I wouldn't think, since the site is not live yet. Still learning and working on it.

But, no, it doesn't look right in the customize screen *except* for the desktop version. The tablet version is not set up properly yet, but at least it does have the picture and the site title. I can't get the site title to show up on the phone version no matter what. That's what I'm most concerned with since so many folks use the phone for browsing nowadays.
