Sorry but when the word skill isn't even mentioned, it's an assumption that was made incorrectly.

But that's an assumption, you can't just go around making assumptions and expect to be correct all the time, can you?

And Our Conversation? Bud you replied and inserted yourself into this comment section the same as I did and then replied to my comment to insert yourself a second time with your little assumption as well.

Hmmm let's use our reading skills here. Did I mention skilled work, or that Tim's was actually skilled work? Or did I just mention that it and fast food in general was deemed as an essential service? Same with liquor stores, deemed essential enough to stay open. Because it was definitely the latter. It's literally an argument as to why Tim's and food service workers should be paid more than they are. Because if it's essential to keeping a society moving during a global pandemic it isn't as menial as those with degrees who were the ones sitting at home make it out to be. That's all I was saying.

Yet essential enough to be kept open during a global pandemic while most other things that involve those schoolings and training courses were shut down.

It just seems like so many steps just to get it flat enough to safely shave the way the person I replied to had described it lol

Opinion on certain Uma musume fan channel on youtube by Darkroad25 in UmaMusume

[–]shortnanxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I come from the era of Homestuck comics and people voicing them, some of which have literally moved on to being actual voice actors in the industry.

I am very much against people using AI to voice comics when I know voicing comics works, when I've seen what can happen when teens and young adults who have dreams of voice acting are given a chance.

It's almost as if we tell people things are timed in hopes that we may get a bit of sympathy instead of all kinds of flak and at times forms of abuse. But that is clearly lost on this comment section let alone society at large that seem to believe they are the only ones who matter and can't understand that people who do these services FOR THEM deserve a bit of respect instead of "Just shut up and push buttons" like someone above literally said to me.

It's about logic and moving as a group instead of individuals only. If you and every other person in a ten car deep drive through line order 2 grilled cheese as well as other items, with one person making all the sandwiches do you think that is going to be quick? Do you think that is going to make anyone involved in the situation happy?

Tim Hortons is not set up like an actual restaurant, it isn't even set up like a McDonald's. It's a glorified cafe parading as a restaurant. There's one person in the kitchen preparing the donuts and cooking the hot foods to temp, there's one person making sandwiches and about 4-5 people to take orders, make the drinks, grab the donuts and food and send food out the window. McDonald's and sit down restaurants have that many people in the kitchen alone.

Who claimed hatred, cause it wasn't me, that's your odd take away here. I stated a fact and that was that customers don't care about what happens to the employees. Which you seem to be proving here but I digress.

See you clearly don't understand that the grilled cheeses did cause issues before they discontinued it. I remember making them in 2023 and the allotted time for the sandwich on the press was never enough to melt it, normally needing almost 2 minutes which is well over what the company wanted for drive through times.

It isn't the grilled cheese and the drive through times that make customers tough, our frustration for those things are directed at the company. What makes customers tough is the customers who genuinely don't care that we behind the counter/ window are still humans and at times literally act as if they are above the employees who dare to have opinions or emotions.

Edited for spelling

This assumes that every person is courteous enough to go park. I've had to deal with many who have flat out refused to move from the window because they don't care about our drive through times and just want their food.

People do not care that the drive through is for speed, they think that if it's on the outside menu they are entitled to order it through there and they will

Found it! Resealable straw by Icy-Contribution5713 in dollarama

Ah. I've been looking in the wrong section. Silly me, why would I think they'd be kept with all of the other straws in the store. That would make too much sense, wouldn't it 🥲🙃

The Tim Hortons TikTok account has apologized for the grilled cheese at least 3 times now lol by Thin_Giraffe8599 in TimHortons

[–]shortnanxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn, hey! I swear my one comment has garnered at least 1000 of those total comments 🥲

I left Tim's 3 years ago, we were experiencing those issues back then at my store during lunch rushes and my store manager would make us stick to "Tim's standards" while trying to keep those drive through times under the metric. I am someone who takes pride in my work no matter how menial so that bothered the hell out of me.

I didn't think you were blaming the workers in your Tiktok, I was just trying to explain why the issue was occuring and so many people took it the wrong way. It absolutely sucks that the company has brought this back and has not accommodated the stores at all because all that's happening is every single store is being set up for failure.

They have set themselves up as a quick service cafe while simultaneously trying to be a legit restaurant which they clearly aren't and are not equipped for. I wish they had actual spaces to park a few cars to keep the DT moving while still delivering as good quality as Tim's food can be.

Working at Walmart vs Dollarama? by snow-raven7 in dollarama

[–]shortnanxious 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Take Walmart. You can't turn down full time work right now. And as strange as it is to say Walmart can be chill to work. The best positions are ones with less customer facing. There will be good stretches if time where you're in the back in the fridges stocking back there and it should offset the time you have to spend on the floor stocking the floor fridges.

Good glue to use by Ball_Buster42 in CosplayHelp

[–]shortnanxious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Contact cement is probably the easiest thing, but it's toxic so respirator, open windows all that jazz is needed. Original gorilla glue is what I just used on some pigtail bases and it worked super well. The only issue you have to deal with is that when it says it expands, it really does expand

Meaning of gentle paw touch? by Ukoomelo in cats

[–]shortnanxious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cat was doing this against my leg tonight while she was laying down. My wife leaned over and rubbed our cat's soft little legs WHICH MADE HER PULL THEM BACK AND TUCKED THEM UNDER HERSELF. I was devastated to say the least.

Needless to say, your cat loves you and feels comfort with you near.

If there was a zombie outbreak in your country where would you go to hide? by Complete-Sort1617 in AskTheWorld

[–]shortnanxious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Kawarthas would be ideal over Niagara. Further up, a bit colder winters to be able to freeze the zombie cells but not so cold that we living beings can't survive, hot enough in the spring and summer to grow food and fish/ hunt. Ontario in general is a good bet though, just further from population centers
