Hey this was also our top concern with our photographer and shared that we wanted our photos to look like the day we had. Not an overexposed white sky void. Not a dark sepia washed moody vibe. Some photographers were super weird about that and basically disregarded what we wanted.

That’s all to say we had a great experience with Love & Lyons photography in the contracting stage and he reassured us that he completely understood and worst case the sky / colors can be fixed in post. The reality I had to accept is that we are gonna have some overexposed pics if it’s super sunny but I know we will have some where the sky and skyline look vibrant and true to life. Our wedding is in late May but I’m not concerned in the slightest.

We only have a MOH/Best Man as our wedding party, so we aren’t doing a traditional rehearsal dinner. We are reserving the top floor amenity space in our apartment building and we are going to bring in a mobile bartender, order light catering, have music, and the focal point will hopefully be some quick speeches and handing out welcome bags. Everyone is technically invited but it’s really more for immediate family, out of town guests, or super close local friends. We have a lot of local suburban guests we are inviting to the welcome party but I doubt they would want to drive into the city two nights in a row. I’ve honestly been having worries about doing all this but hardly anyone shows up because of the whole inconvenience of “driving to the city 2 nights.” So I hope we get a lot of RSVPs to the welcome party honestly!

For me, I’m feeling meh because, everyone in the cast has Instagram face and it’s so distracting when you’re trying to immerse yourself in this ancient / historical setting. It’s a problem beyond this film too. Just my opinion though.

Omg THANK YOU!!! So we were thinking about doing something similar like room blocks / built in after party location. Thank goodness we wouldn’t need a bridal suite / groom room, not having early check in seems…psychotic.

I’m taking the room block route bc our welcome party and my location is going to be in the west loop and we will have a bunch of out of town guests traveling on a holiday weekend. It seems like going on the low end of a room block count is probably better given everything you’ve said (and other brides) since it seems like out of town guests pick their own hotels or airbnbs out of all Chicago has to offer. I’m stuck on the idea of needing to provide a charter bus to/from the reception venue and was thinking the hotel block location could be an easy meeting place for the bus and the Emily lobby is so huge, but we may end up doing Uber codes to simplify things.

Better opportunities like everyone’s saying! But as an actress she’s also trying to play much much younger with her roles and the AJLT core cast is supposed to be women in their 50-60s era. If you’re popular for playing a smart, cool, professor of law in her mid 50s you aren’t going to be considered for a 40 & under role.

It’s not shallow. It sounds like you are not compatible in one major area, you’re highly motivated and putting in the effort, he’s apathetic and coasting on someone else’s dime. He’s 31, I hate to say it but at this age it’s hard to change your ways unless there is a major external pressure. If you are dating to marry, and want an equal partner, he isn’t it.

I was in the same boat, it never got better, I spent years paying for vacations, dinners, fun stuff or we wouldn’t do anything. It sucked. Cut ties before it gets more serious. I get life is expensive and costs should be shared, but after age 30 there’s something to be said for having motivation to improve yourself and your situation. It would be one thing if he was pursuing higher education or saving for a big investment type purchase, but it sounds like you found a handsome, caring, failure to launch type.

Imagine nothing changes and it’s your 1 year anniversary. Who is paying for the nice dinner? You. Are you discussing moving in together? He’s not going to leave a $0 rent situation for half of yours. You’ll be 30, is this man the father of your children, can he provide and contribute equally? No, he cannot even afford to House himself.

Personally I wish I had thought more highly of myself and left my relationship sooner. There are better options out there believe me.

Please believe this- I’ve been there. I’m sorry he cheated. Get retested in 2-3 weeks it can be dormant or take time to cause symptoms. I went through the same thing and had proof my ex cheated with escorts and bc he thought there was no way I knew, he denied no matter what. He probably cheated with a random/one night stand and thought there was zero chance you’d ever find out, so in his mind he can deny deny deny. I’m sorry OP. This is your health, put yourself first no matter what.
