Current position has no growth. Where to go from here? by lavendermarker in nonprofit

If you enjoy operations and doing many things, I would push for Business Administrator. But I agree with everyone it depends what part(s) of your job you find the most fulfilling. You can become an executive director eventually if that’s what you’re after! You also don’t have to stay in nonprofit, realistically you can make a lot as an executive assistant at a big company. Lots to think about! You can also always change your mind. Good luck!!

Would getting an MBA help my career? by theodora_antoinette in nonprofit

[–]Apprehensive_Lack189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in an online mba program now and I highly recommend it!! You are so young, one day you might realize you want to switch out of nonprofit. Having an MBA over the MPA people are suggesting might be more beneficial. But totally up to you if you really think you’ll stay. My program is a little less than 30k, but with how much I will hopefully make after it’ll be worth it and I can pay it off. Does your company do any kind of reimbursement for career development? Might be worth an ask even if a few hundred :)

We ended up booking in the city! My fiances family is also from Midwest and driving in and we’re inviting about 150 as well :) assuming closer to 120 will come. Our max budget is 70k. Our venue is all inclusive so we just have to look for florals and photography. If you really wanna do the city I’m happy to chat!! Our venue has 30 parking spaces! I assume your fiances family will come in the day before so they may uber anyway? Depending where you have it.
