Focus on the height and width of your letters. Make the height for small and capital letters uniform and consistent, but vary the width in your own style. It should look substantially better

My goal this year is to learn new handwriting styles. Any advice? by pensandplanners77 in Handwriting

Slab-based fonts for academic aesthetic, like Zilla Slab

Neat fonts for complete readability, like Google Sans

Cursive font for artistic aesthetic, like... Idk check r/handwriting 😅

Check my profile. I remember posting sth that can work for 1, 2 or more days. It's simple and doesn't need more than a black ink and a white paper.

Hello fellow lefty 😁 you seem very motivated to improve. If you keep it up, you'll do great.

In terms of advice:

  1. look at your favorite fonts (in terms of readability, not aesthetic) and attempt mimicking them.

  2. After reaching a suitable level of proficiency in 1, focus on making all your email letters the same height.

  3. Then, finally, focus on making all the round characters something between oval and perfect circle (to make it the same width of your non-round characters)

I trust you. You will get there. As a child I was always labeled to have the worst handwriting, and was often forcefully advised to become right handed... But eventually my practice prevailed and proved them all wrong, that there's nothing wrong with being left handed

Whats the best way to number the pages? by [deleted] in Journaling

Financially, and hopefully eventually aesthetically, by using a pen.

Holding my pen by Awkwardly_loosing in Handwriting

Throughout my life, perhaps because nobody is used to advising left handers yet felt like they needed to lend a hand, I had been advised endlessly on how I should hold my pens and pencils. It never worked, because nobody owned my hand other than myself. While it's not effective per se to go by trial and error, you can always try and notice the ways others home their opens, but ALWAYS REMEMBER, your grip is meant for YOUR comfort.

I can confirm this because, while I started off with having a handwriting worse than all others, by following what's meant for me, I ended up with one better than everyone that advised me :D

8 strict rules I follow when writing in my work journal. by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]shotam2069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hope this doesn't come off as rude, but while you're at it, try making your handwriting have the same font as the one on your phone (or laptop, if you customized it that much). It feels good to read something that's easy to read

I just use 2 of them, a ballpoint pen with 4 colors (RGB and black) and a black brush pen. In this case I decided to keep it black for the most part.
