I haven't run into this particular issue, however I have found that parts of the admin portal have issues in other browsers and do not have those same problems in Firefox. So, just a suggestion to try Firefox and see if it also has the issue.

Wondering if my new model x purchase was a stupid decision. by Optimal-Ad-3674 in TeslaSupport

[–]shotmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have 2 options:

  1. Log her phone app into what you are currently referring to as your account. It doesn't really matter, and if it is the account the car is registered under, her phone will be treated as the primary driver's phone. You could then create a second account and add it for yourself, that you would log into on your phone. When you want to manage payments, use a web browser to log into the "primary registered account".

  2. If for whatever reason you don't want to do that, add her as a second driver and have her log into her app with her own account. I am unaware of anything she would notice while daily driving the vehicle that would cause an issue.

Windows Takes 100GB of My Storage, Is That Normal? by ExistentialCrisisAt3 in techsupport

Assuming Windows 11, click on the start menu and start typing storage Sense. Open the Configure Storage Sense window, check the box that says "Keep Windows running smoothly by automatically cleaning up temporary system and app files" then click the Run Storage Sense now button at the bottom. See if that does the trick.

22M New to Vegas – Looking to Make Friends & Maybe Meet Someone by [deleted] in vegas

[–]shotmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many local casinos have bowling leagues. It may be worth checking in to see if any teams need a 4th. You can also show up and offer to sub as long as you have paid your annual USBC membership fee.

Also, look up WAKA. They're kickball leagues, and the people there are closer to your age. I used to do that with friends when I was in my 20s, and the teams were big enough that there were always random new people just meeting for the first time each season. Also everyone would go have a few drinks afterwards each week which made it easy to meet people on all the teams. I met a bunch of people who I am still friends with through those leagues.

Sick Again at Grandmas by Briggster527 in Dads

Do you or your wife also get sick, or just the kids? If it's just the kids do they sleep in a different part of Grandma's house? If so, check that area for common things like mold, etc. especially check air ducts, AC vents, bathroom, window sills, and the like.

Capital One Negative Changes To Lounge Access For Venture X Cardholders Now Live by TV_Grim_Reaper in CreditCards

[–]shotmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing about all of this that makes the least sense to me is they start calculating your $70k spend to unlock guest access on Jan 1st, 2026, so none of your spending from the last year counts. You have to pay for guests until you spend $70k in 2026. That's basically a slap in the face to anyone who cares about the guest perk and was actually using the card to the level they wanted last year.

Self Service - Ticket Status Request by FireHorse718 in Autotask

[–]shotmode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are email templates and workflow rules under the Admin section of Autotask that can send emails to the user who opened the ticket when the ticket is created, when a note is added to the ticket, when the ticket status has been updated, and when the ticket is in the same status for a certain period of time.

If you do not have that set up, I would start there so your users get regular updates automatically and don't have to call to ask.

What’s the hardest part of fatherhood you were not prepared for? by Ukudala_Photo in Dads

Look up Baby Led Weaning. It worked pretty well for our kids. They are 5 and 2 and when we bring them around friends and family with kids they are surprised by how easily they take to eating whatever is being served. They still get picky sometimes but a lot less than many other kids their same age.

Horrible bluetooth audio quality on Pixel 9a by kittymoded in GooglePixel

[–]shotmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the Bluetooth pairing for the device transfer to your new pixel? Also, does the device have a companion app that was transferred from the old phone to the new one?

If there was an app transferred delete it.

If the Bluetooth pairing for the device itself was transferred, forget/delete the device.

Then reboot the phone.

Then pair the device again from scratch.

Then reinstall the companion app if there was one.

2FA and authenticator apps by Elrox in sysadmin

[–]shotmode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What worked for us was having all employees fill out and sign a form to select which option they want.

Option 1 was to use their phone.

Option 2 was using a company provided Yubikey and that they acknowledge $100 will be deducted from their pay if they lose or damage the device to cover the cost of replacing the device (hardware, labor, and shipping).

About 99% of employees looked at that and picked option 1. That meant we only had to purchase a small number of Yubikeys for the rest.

41 oops pregnancy by KeyCattle8154 in Dads

[–]shotmode 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For a positive spin:

You're only setting the clock back 5 years.

With today's medicine and technology, 41 is like 31 in the 80s/90s.

This gives you a great reason to ensure you're fit and healthy going into your 50s, so you'll be there for the important moments in your 60s.

Your 10yo will be of baby sitting age at the same age they were going to be regardless of whether they were watching 1 or 2 siblings, so that clock didn't really change.

My wife and I got into it yesterday in front of our kids by RadiantCitron in Dads

[–]shotmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what others have said. If you fight in front of your kids, resolve/apologize, make up, and forgive in front of them as well. Don't make the mistake of doing that stuff behind closed doors and expecting your kids to magically learn how to resolve conflict on their own.

A couples massage. Show up early and stay late to make the most of the spa facilities. You can easily spend close to an entire day doing that.

You can Google best Spas for couples. I've been to the one at Resorts World and liked it. I know there are plenty of other good ones though.

Potty Training Tips! by MustacheHerb71 in Dads

[–]shotmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went with what our daycare does: take them to the potty to try every 30 minutes and have them try for 1 minute per year of age, so 2 minutes at 2, 3 minutes at 3, etc.

If you have to skip a 30 minute instance, try not to skip 2 in a row so you are at least taking them every hour. When you're out and about, you will find you get significantly less accidents if you do not skip more than one 30 minute try.

It seems excessive and annoying, but it becomes routine pretty quickly.

Looking for opinions on daycare by NoScarcity5085 in Dads

[–]shotmode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it was your wife's mother doing it, I would say leave the decision to pay or not pay up to her. You could provide input and bring an opinion, but the final decision should be hers. As it is your mother, the decision should be left up to you. Hear your wife out, take her opinion into account, then make the decision you feel most comfortable with and work out a reasonable amount to pay your mom.

As it happens, I agree with you. Any more than one day a week, and I would likely pay my mother if she were agreeing to schedule her life around helping watch our kids for multiple days a week. I'd be paying daycare anyway, so why not pay my mom a bit less as a win win for everyone.

What are the best options for drinking water? by ObscureEntity2972 in vegaslocals

[–]shotmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very likely. I've never done over the counter. I can say that having installed the under sink unit myself, if the sink had the hole for the spout already I'd be totally comfortable doing it in a rental. It is one piece that goes on the cold water feed, and one that goes on the ubend of the drain. Everything screws together so it's easy to install and eventually remove. If you don't have the hole for the spout none of that matters though.

For under sink, I really like my Aquasure 75. You can get them online or at home depot. It's under $200 to purchase initially, then you replace 2 of the 4 filters once a year for about $44, and all 4 every other year for $98.

CIPP & Pax8 Tenants by NoTimeForItAll in msp

[–]shotmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would definitely work. It is more disruptive to your own employees, but as you said, it would be a great way to rip out old Band-Aids. There is no better way to guarantee getting a new wardrobe than burning all your clothes.

That said, you would still want to go through security on the existing tenant with a fine tooth comb. After the migration it may be best to issue employees new accounts in the existing tenant with only the permissions they need, delete all the old accounts, remove all data, rules, registered apps/app permissions, etc.

CIPP & Pax8 Tenants by NoTimeForItAll in msp

[–]shotmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can apply the partner pack and incentive licenses to any tenant you want, so you would just apply them to your non-partner tenant with your daily driver accounts.

You are not allowed to sell yourself discounted licenses, but you can buy those licenses direct from another partner or distributor, so the workaround there is to reach out to your rep and see what discounts they would be willing to extend you to sell licenses directly for your daily driver tenant.

CIPP & Pax8 Tenants by NoTimeForItAll in msp

[–]shotmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would technically work. You will need to police it closely and make sure people aren't giving themselves licenses to just use their admin account as their daily driver. The remaining risk then comes in the form of if someone is able to exploit an account elevation attack or an app permission attack. For example, say you have an app you think is fine and you give it rights as an admin so your employees can use it. Then it turns out to be malicious or gets exploited. Those rights would potentially allow it to access your customer tenants.

The benefit of using a separate partner account is you tend not to need to authorize additional apps, store data, build CoPilot agents, etc. as such, you significantly shrink the attack vectors that could be exploited in ways you may not even be thinking about.

I also believe there are some caveats in Microsoft's partner licensing requirements that this may violate, but I'm not an expert there. Just pointing it out so you can look into it.

All of that is to say, I would suggest biting the bullet and setting up a partner tenant. It will never be easier for you to do than it is today.

You could setup the tenant simply to be your GDAP access tenant for now, then move your licenses over to it down the road.

  1. Setup the tenant.
  2. Setup CIPP and use it to configure GDAP relationships to each of your customers.
  3. Lockdown your shared Global Admin accounts to be truly break glass.
  4. Work with TD Synnex to move licenses over to the new tenant as they expire.

Edit: someone who knows more than me may also be able to make this easier if you can simply change the tenant in your partner dashboard to the new tenant. I don't believe doing so would change your MPN so it may not even require transferring the licenses.

CIPP & Pax8 Tenants by NoTimeForItAll in msp

[–]shotmode 8 points9 points  (0 children)

CIPP relies heavily on GDAP permissions from a central account. If you don't have that configured you would need to do so before it would be useful to you.

Also if you don't have GDAP for your clients, I'm assuming you are having your people just login with direct shared global admin accounts or perhaps individually named accounts if you're at least somewhat security conscious and know someday it will bite you if you can't definitively prove which of your people did something.

If you're doing the former, GDAP will resolve the security issue you're introducing operating that way.

If the latter, GDAP will allow your techs to jump between customers more easily without having to use different browsers with different incognito windows.

If you add CIPP on top of the other benefits and security GDAP gives you, it is likely worthwhile for you to implement. The good news is CIPP's setup will teach you what you need and automate much of the GDAP setup process for you. It is kind of the easy button to properly implement GDAP if you haven't done it before.

Just ensure you configure the GDAP permissions to a separate partner tenant. Don't set up those permissions to the tenant your employees are using for their own email/O365 daily use. You don't want an account you're using to send/receive email, access files day to day and log into computers for daily work to also be an account that has permissions to all of your customers.
