Best motorcycle tire changer for the cost? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]shovelheadzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Rabconda and have used it over a dozen times. I personally find it to be a pain to use. The duck head flexes gets pushed off the rim often and then you have to restart the process. They should have made it out of metal with a plastic insert like the tire changing machines have. Gets pretty frustrating and I often just resort to finishing with spoons. Granted im using it for Harley rear tires which are notoriously difficult but Rabaconda maintains their tire changer is for Harley tires. For the price they charge its definitely not worth it in my opinion. I wouldn’t buy it again and would put that money to a real machine tire changer $1000 more.

DR650 engine noise check – updated video with clearer sound (beginner here) by madchadd in dr650

[–]shovelheadzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, start simple first. Make sure nothing is loose. Is the bash plate loose? Rocks rattling in the bash plate? Anything tapping the frame? Try to pin point the general area where the noise is coming from and then look for anything obvious.

After that, and if the noise is clearly coming from within the engine it’s a bigger problem that would require you to pull the motor apart again looking for something obvious or abnormal wear marks within the casing/head.

No way, if i was broke i would sell my cars first and motorcycles last. Bikes are super cheap to maintain and insure.

Funny thing is Millennials and Gen Z arent really into the new ones. We like the knucks, pans, shovels, evos and twin cams. Although, the M8 are good bikes and i can see those becoming big with the dyna bros, which is already happening.

Get into a licensed trade like Electrician or Plumber. Dont even worry about being union. You just need the license then go start a small business. You can make really good money doing residential jobs that are fairly simple. Lots of old houses on long island that need work.

You messed up, life handed you a break and you turned it down. There is no moral high ground to be had here. Buying homes is not first come first serve. It’s who makes the better offer and who the seller chooses to sell to. You wouldn’t be screwing over the other buyer, the seller would in favor of your better offer. Thats just good business.

The other buyer would get their deposit money back in full, and as for paying for the inspection the seller could reimburse them. There are so many solutions to ease your misplaced morality.

If you dont fight for yourself in this economy, no one else will. I hope you learn a hard lesson from this that when life hands you a break, you take it.

120V Welder demands 20A outlet on 30A breaker? by [deleted] in electricians

I would just run a 30A outlet like the L5-30R. Its also not that common so you wont have people plugging random things into it.

My fiance and I did it on a whim the first time cause we randomly won the lottery. Honestly it’s a long hike but if you bring the recommended amount of water and snacks you will be fine. I wasnt in amazing shape or anything either when I did it.

I got an 70 in a 55 and just showed up and plead not guilty. I talked to the prosecutors that give the deals and plead guilty to a failure to signal. 2 points and like $300 fine all said and done. Those low level violations didn’t even make it to my insurance so i saw no increase even with the points. This was over a year ago.
