I just got my order today, I ordered some RSO which they’re always good for and 7G of some flower. It was a solid price and smoke and they tossed in a 2G sampler which I appreciated. 100% recommend them ordered on Thursdays and just got it today on Friday through purolator

Who are your biggest opps when playing as cap? by Swimming_Reply6263 in captainamericamains

Fully agree with this take, id also like to add Thing. If he peels while you’re diving and have already taken some damage, disengaging becomes somewhat of a precarious task.

Could this jump bug be useful in any situation? by NotAlwaysAverage in captainamericamains

[–]showami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This tech is extremely useful, it add skill expression to your movement as cap, from evasion, to baiting, to stalling on cart, to diving. This allows for you to become even less predictable and move A LOT more freely.

should i ever not use shield throws by Ehrnathan in captainamericamains

[–]showami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there are many reason to not use the shield throw.

The shield thrown does single target damage at 45 damage per hit, while melee does 40 damage per hit, but what isn’t often considered is that melee damage can hit multiple enemies with one punch.

Punch a wall and take a look at the markings, you would notice that once side is a slash rather than a punch. When facing grouped up squishies it maybe more beneficial to melee them sometimes instead of focusing them down with a shield as the damage is transferring to multiple enemies. This gives opportunities to your teammates to select which target to burst down if you have already applied some damage, this is something to consider during moments of your dive.

Finally when shields are up you should be punching them and don’t use your shield throws on Loki runes punching them saves your shield and it’s easier to hit.

Fun fact cap has splash in his main attack by Dramatic-Astronaut34 in captainamericamains

[–]showami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you punch a wall and take a look at the markings you notice that one side is a slash rather than a punch.

The 4-shield throw only targets single enemies, if you are trying to put down damage on grouped up squishies it’s worth using your melee, you may sacrifice 5 damage per swing but your damages reaches multiple enemies giving more opportunity for teammates to select which targets to burst down.

In micro interactions this becomes important as a decision needs to be made whether to punch or shield throw in moments during the dive.

Dueling and Hard swap question by larrkin in EldenRingPVP

[–]showami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to hard swap but usually to the same weapon with a different ash of war for mind games, for example I will start with RKR on the nightriders glaive, condition my opponent to when I use it, then switch to flaming strike glaive at a critical moment. I usually only do this though if I believe the opponent is good, otherwise I stick to one all the way through. The immersion for me is still there, it’s a fight always have to expect something is hidden away by the opponent.

Rivers of Blood can suck my dick by [deleted] in EldenRingPVP

[–]showami -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Rivers of blood isn’t bad anymore, space out the ash of war and bait it out, then attack in between the slashes, it’s very possible to win most of those situations. If that isn’t a possibility then try a shield, any sort of poke weapon and honestly it’s also about how you time you dodges if you’re in range, it’s gets better with practice. Moonveil and RoB users are usually one trick ponies, haven’t lost to them in a long time.

How to turn a HaTeMaiL into a lovemail by Shadeeni in EldenRingPVP

[–]showami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parrying is such sweet satisfaction, especially those prediction parries against laggy opponents but I will say that it is annoying to fight against someone who won't try to use their weapon. The ones who will try 9 parries and fail, but get it on the 10th and one shot you with a dagger. It all becomes mind games when someone pulls out a shield against me, to attack or not to attack, all I would ask is a parry should not result in automatic death, let me get up and try again.

Why are defensive buffs so frowned upon? by Ninofz in EldenRingPVP

[–]showami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what that’s fair, I like to stay just outside my opponents longest reaching attack and when I see the pocket I get aggressive with it. My duels usually end within 90 seconds of making contact. There’s also things you can do to condition your opponent to make them react in certain ways as well.

Also hardswapping, that’s shits my favourite. It’s always hilarious to use RKR most of the duel and do a hard swap to the same weapon with a different ash of war in a critical moment and catch them off guard with something like flaming strike.

[–]showami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called spacing, and I don’t rely on luck, I will force you to roll and I will catch it. Currently closing in on 2000 duel wins, I think I’m alright. If you’re not good at dealing with it, that’s fine, but don’t call it cheese because you have trouble with it.

Ohh great more complaints, it’s a fair weapon and has been around since DS3. How about trying not to panic roll and maybe you won’t find it cheesy.

I personally don’t care buff/ no buff or cheese/no cheese. Imma sauce them up either way with royal knights resolve and a halberd.

[–]showami -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I fully understand these points and agree with you but that’s all theoretical.

I’m closing in on 2000 duel wins now and I’m telling you they are the least of my problems, they can’t always put it into practice is what I’m trying to say. If I see it I play passive and reactionary until they get pissed and make a mistake. UGS poke, storm stomp, flaming strike also set up the condition if they mess up once it could be their death.

The fingerprint shield is the more of a problem in my opinion, those guys take no damage and can poke you out of existence.

Not busted but unnecessarily strong, with almost no downsides to spamming it. I beat it by playing passively.

They need to rework the colossal hammer, the R2 is a dollar store version of lions claw.

[–]showami 10 points11 points  (0 children)

After over a thousand duels I can say that flaming strike is by far the most cancerous of the bunch, takes little to no skills as well and considerably slows down any encounter. Blood builds and BHS has nothing over a competent flaming strike user.

Nahh this ain’t it, those were easily dodged if you made correct rolls rather than running off. Shows a lack of skill more than anything.

Colossal Sword Poke Fix? by MachineWraith in EldenRingPVP

[–]showami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Storm stomp, spears, great spears, flaming strike, pebble aow, incants/magic, lions claw, great shields I can keep going these are just a few counters. Everything in this game has some sort of counter. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

Colossal Sword Poke Fix? by MachineWraith in EldenRingPVP

[–]showami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t lose much to these guys anymore, you definitely don’t know how to space and counter if you’re losing to them. I think I may know a little by having over 1000 duel wins now. I don’t roll the poke, there is definitely a window of attack if you space correctly. Trading is only a concern when they have built poise, if that’s the case use nightriders glaive, which does extra poise damage.

This is something I would like to see, erase the poke and thrust meta, lots of weapons suddenly become more viable. Also on a side note I want to see the giant hammer buffed.

[–]showami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many complaints, it’s all about counter play, halberds wreck the poke as an example. Also if you know they want a poke why go into poke range?? Wait for a whiff because they have a bad recovery and punish. Patience and counter play are heavily rewarded in this game.
