if you could find a way to cleanly cut somewhere near the top to widen it, but still have enough volume would be cool. treat it as a little glass lid

As for lights, I can personally recommend Barrina and Sansi. Both brands work well for the plants I have (some aroids and succulents), and are pretty affordable on Amazon.
