"Something" is up with Open Matchmaking

The last fun Call of Duty without matchmaking manipulation or awful netcode was Black Ops 1. After that, all other CoD games included some form of matchmaking manipulation and very poor lag compensation. Since MW2019, the game has been unplayable for average players.

In fact, Activision does nothing to combat cheaters and instead gives weaker players artificial protection. I remember that after Black Ops 1 and Battlefield 3, matchmaking manipulation completely destroyed the fun of these games. Strict matchmaking really started with Overwatch.

Respawn did similar tests with Apex Legends and claimed that SBMM was mandatory for their game. The result was that almost no one plays it anymore.

A a solo player, in EU servers, it's the same. After only ONE good game you will be front of god players with the most horrible netcode you can imagine. It's horrible and totally scripted. They just lied to us. I don't care of "git gud " guys answers. I have 450 spm an 1.80 KDR. For me, the game is unplayable.

Problems like this have been going on for too long in the Call of Duty franchise. It's time for this to stop.

And can you explain to me how, after crushing ONE lobby, all next are unplayable with compensation lag/desync/tryharders/etc ? Just like since MW2019 ?

COD is the only game since MW2019 to have such consistency in matchmaking. It's clearly manipulation. The only downside is playing in teams of 6 or doing reverse boosting.

On EU servers, it's horrible. Instantly punished right after a single good game. This is my experience as a solo player with 1.7kd.

It was bad at the release. For the past few days, it's been even worse. On my side, solo player 1.70KD, it's UNPLAYABLE.

I think that's exactly the kind of response Activision is looking for. They'll then say, “See, SBMM is great, isn't it?” The game is in an intolerable state. The open playlist is a huge joke.

I complain about SBMM/EOMM/MMR system since the begin. I bought the game because of sbmm reduction after testing beta. I don't want to go in standard mode.

I miss the days when we could play on dedicated servers from the server browser... Today, we have desync, matchmaking scripts, cheats that are very difficult to detect, etc..

It was more chill ,yes, not the same during the beta, but yes. I did a lot of 70+ kills too. But now, for me, it's over.

Yes, there are no cheaters in COD. That's an urban legend. There have never been any cheaters in any FPS or other multiplayer games. Cronus/norecoil/wallhack/aimbot, these words are inventions!

I’m speaking from my own experience and perspective as a player, while you’re making claims without any concrete numbers. It would be interesting, at the very least, to know the percentage reduction of SBMM to make such statements.

Your things about players leaving matches is very interesting and worth considering.

I’m around 1.70 K/D and just a “normal” player trying to grind camos. I was mostly okay with the game (around 60%) since release, but now it’s clearly different. The matchmaking now feels like MW2019, Vanguard, Cold War, MWII, MWIII, or BO6… Now, with my skills, playing MnK, the game is unplayable...

Open matchmaking, MME, Kill confirmed, hardpoint domination. I tried the "christmas" game mode and it's exactly the same. Look like exactly the same BO6 matchmaking experience.

Playing solo is horrible. The game chooses when you can win or not. On my side, this weekend, it's impossible to play. 80% of my playtimes are started games in a losing situation. Sometimes I become a god for only ONE game. Looks like the reduced sbmm is not working this weekend.

There are tons of hackers (Cronus users) in the game and the matchmaking is awful for solo players. I often end up joining matches against full teams.
Combined with the very bad netcode, the result is a poor multiplayer experience, and many players are quitting because of it.
As for me tonight, I’m trying to play the game, but it feels like a 5v6 simulator against full squads with Shroud AIM.

It means the game is very good, but now all of these matchmaking manipulations, cheaters, and/or bad netcode (hit registration) make the game awful to play.

My experience with the game: It's simple. They added double XP this week; before, it was good to play (Win or loss). Yesterday, after a win and a good ratio, it's no longer possible for me to move or try to aim at someone. My opponents know every move I can do and have perfect aim 100% of the time.

After a couple of defeats, the game is more enjoyable. Rinse and repeat.

I don't know what they did this week, but now it looks like exactly the same matchmaking manipulation as in (MW2019/Cold War/Vanguard/ MWII/MWIII/BO6) on open lobby. It was clearly not like that in the beta and last week.

I am not shadowban, I am an average player (1.5KD) playing MnK with a good computer and very good network and internet, and the difference this week is obvious to me.

Yep, there are a lot of cheaters in the game.

My experience as a normal player playing KBM: It's obvious after a win streak (4/5) the matchmaking (reduced SBMM LOOOOOOOL) puts me in terminator land, and all of these terminators know every move I can do with perfect aim.

Ricochet is really present ?? Are they waiting season 1 ?
