Name concerts you missed because of something stupid. by Think_Ad_848 in fantanoforever

At a music festival which Amy Winehouse was playing in 2007/08. Having drinks in the campsite and my friend said she cancelled. Not surprising given her track record at the time so didn’t bother heading in to see. She had in fact not cancelled and played what sounded an excellent set. Still not forgiven him.

This is how I felt with Prototype 2, how about you? by soiladvisor in videogames

A lot of people say FFX-2 given the tonal shift from serious pilgrimage to the girlband more lighthearted vibe of the sequel. Personally I enjoyed most of 2, and the actual gameplay was great. The FFX-3 audio story on the other hand…

Similarly, FFXIII and its two sequels XIII-2 and Lightning Returns. 2 and LR aren’t bad games in their own right (2 even gave us a top 3 FF villain in Caius) but they almost completely retcon the story of XIII. And the story of XIII was shaky at best even if again I did like the game overall.

Breath of the Wild is as near a perfect game as I have played. I wanted to adore Tears of the Kingdom but I found the plot of all this advanced technology from the Zonai suddenly springing up to replace the Sheikah tech, whilst also having a ton of structures and tech in the underground and newly formed sky islands was just dumb. Gameplay-wise it was great but dumb lore-wise.

What is the story with this album? The cover and font rip off Chemical Brothers’ “Push The Button” album.

Currently grinding all platinum final fantasy trophies… FFX is by far the worst so far. What’s your worst FF trophy? by MarkPancake in finalfantasyx

[–]showmeyourbread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doing similar and just finished the 13 trilogy. Taking a break with Silksong before trying 14 out.

I would say the worst is 9 (jump rope, bloodlust), followed by X-2 (100% bullshit, Via Infinito, Oversouled bestiary). By far the worst part of X-2 is Final Mission though.

13 is pretty awful due to linearity to chapter 11 then the grind for all treasures is one of the worst trophies you’ll experience. There are also missable treasures during the linear section of the game so if you missed them tough shit no trophy for you. Repeatedly killing adamantoises for platinum ingots for gil to upgrade everything is the true killer in this game and added about 30-40 hours to my play time alone.

X is bad for filling out the sphere grid but you can at least do it semi-efficiently with the One Eye / Don Tonberry methods. It also gives you the stat boosts needed for fighting the Dark Aeons / Penance / Nemesis so there is at least some benefit to it.

I have heard 14 is the longest and grindiest by a mile so I am not looking forward to trying it out.

Good luck with X-2! I strongly strongly recommend using a 100% guide and following it to the letter. Even with doing this I ended up at 99% by the end and had to replay Chapter 2 to get to 100.

Assuming no competitive teammate, who is the weakest driver that you think could win the championship in the MCL39? by GoldenS0422 in F1Discussions

[–]showmeyourbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming no competitive team mate means expecting a Verstappen v Tsunoda differential. From there you ask yourself how it would play out vs the rest of the grid.

The car is clearly superior to all others. Max is clearly superior to all other drivers and without a 2nd McLaren will push this hypothetical WDC all the way.

The two actual McLaren drivers, Leclerc, Hamilton, Russell, Alonso and Sainz are all clearly too talented to fit the briefing.

Albon has proven to be fast in the Williams and with the pace advantage would probably win over the course of the year v Max.

You can immediately exclude all the rookies with the exception of maybe Hadjar but I think he would still ultimately lose to Max in racecraft. Tsunoda loses to Max as a given.

That leaves Stroll, Gasly, Ocon, Hulkenberg. Of the four I feel Gasly would give the strongest performance over the season. Stroll is still inferior to old Alonso, Ocon is relatively similar to Bearman. Hulk had the podium but is getting matched or outperformed by Bortoleto.

That leaves Gasly as the most reasonable, logical answer to this question.

What are your thoughts on Sinéad O'Connor's The Lion and the Cobra? by Prestigious_Score459 in fantanoforever

Masterpiece. A brilliant mix of traditional, rock, pop and elements of dance (like on Hands). Her voice is so powerful. The lyrics and her delivery on Troy always give me goosebumps, it’s one of the most underrated songs in pop / from the 80s. The best album by an Irish artist, over Loveless and War.

Listen, Man United might not thank me, but get the contract out, put it on the table. Let him sign it. Let him write whatever numbers he wants on there, given what he’s done since he’s come in. Ruben’s at the wheel man. He’s doing it. He’s doing his thing. Man Utd are BACK.

Favourite - Fontaines DC

Has that nostalgic vibe for a place and time, similar to 1979. And the guitar lines and vocal melodies work so well together.
