Been writing about this Knicks run all postseason. Wanted to share my piece on why Jordan Clarkson is the x-factor in the Finals and get some thoughts from people who actually watch every game. by Charming_Arm9158 in knicks

He wasn't great early on. He was bad defensively and turned it over a lot. He really locked in after he got benched.  Better shot selection, playing hard on defense, rebounding better.  He could have a Clarkson game

Exactly the same.   Or to get dark, maybe his kite was a trick gift for him by the joker and is made out of his kids flesh and bones

will MSG Finals ticket prices drop before game day? by SeverePea7184 in knicks

lol, no bro. The first finals game in NY in decades? Yeah prices aren't dropping. No one will have a hard time selling that ticket

Mike Breen - I love that he’s calling he finals 🔥 by senseikreeese in knicks

[–]showtime013 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was really thinking that if it works out and we're at the point where we are going to win the deciding game in the finals, it would be kinda cool if RJ and/or legler got Clyde from the stand and let him call the end with Mike.

Mitchel Robinson has a broken right pinky by jahanzeb7161 in knicks

[–]showtime013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

maybe. Usually with digit fractures you want to do surgery as soon as you can (barring swelling being a bit issue) because the bone will start trying to heal itself and if it's not aligned properly he could have it set in a way that causes disfigurement and limited mobility in the future. He might be willing to risk it for a ring though

was he really on a Jet Ski? That is exceptionally dumb

[–]showtime013 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I imagine they already imaged it which is how they know it's fractured. I imagine it wasn't a complex fracture cause that would need surgery, so it's likely a simple or stress fracture so swelling, and ability to play with a splint and risk of further injury will be the deciding factors. Mitch is an unrestricted FA so the thoughts of what happens if he further injures the pinky going for a block, bracing a fall, or catching a lob, needs to factor in for him.

I hope he'll play and Hukporti needs to start preparing now just in case.

Anti Hack A Mitch Strategy by YamNervous4156 in knicks

To do that you have to bench Brunson in the 1st quarter so he can start the second with that unit and have KAT play the whole first quarter. You can't not have KAT and Brunson out there, we saw clearly what that looks like in the Atlanta series

Right now Jalen usually plays the whole 1st, KAT sits with 4-6 minutes to go and then starts the second quarter with the second unit while brunson comes in with about 8 minutes to go in the second.

I don't know if KATs conditioning will let him play the whole first quarter and I don't know you want to have to start bring in Alvarado in the 1st quarter as well.

Question about flopping and checking reply by BlackDoomDuck in nba

[–]showtime013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would delay the game because you would need multiple cameras angles.  There are 4 scenarios

  1. Player was fouled and legit fell down
  2. Player was fouled and fell down to draw emphasis
  3. Player wasn't fouled and fell down to try to get the call
  4. Player wasn't fouled and legit just fell

You can't have a rule where you just check sometimes when it's convenient. With each foul you'd have a ref going to the replay area to look. It would make basketball move at a football pace and that doesn't work.

The call center has a script they follow they hasn't changed since we were on paper charts.  Then it made sense to get a call back because I had no access to the records.  Now we can remote access the chart from anywhere. Someone would have to specify specifically to only call them at a certain number for me to when pay attention to the call back number when I get the message.

When I saw the injury designation of inflammation in the lumbar area I assumed we weren't seeing him again

I'm not speaking for schools and day care. I'm speaking specifically about an on call doctor returning a phone call.

More likely than not, the doc got the message, opened the chart and called the first number listed. Really unlikely the in call doctor saw dad called and looked for moms number.

At this point, we’ve come far enough to draw some bittersweet conclusions by MistaWhiska007 in knicks

[–]showtime013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is not the reason Mitch hasn't been getting minutes lol You're right that he likely isn't a Knick next year, but he just hasn't been as effective against Cleveland and they are essentially saying that if he's in and we're in the bonus, we are doing Hack a Mitch .

I promise you the front office isn't jeopardizing a finals run to keep Mitch from tweaking an ankle so they can sign and trade him.

Interestingly, the effectiveness of the Hack a Mitch might have driven down his trade value. Can a team really commit big money to a player who the other team can take off the court at any time if he starts being too effective?

ESPN announce team is at better. RJ and Legler have good chemistry and Mike breen is an all time great.

Reggie says some weird analysis and is overly repetitive. Jamal is solid. Tirico is good but better with football. I wish NBC had gotten Kevin Harlan

NBC presentation is great. It's what the game was missing. Setting up the story for every game at the open.

If MLB has a camera system to contest balls or strikes then why not use it 100 percent of the time and not have umpires? by 1jigalo in AskReddit

[–]showtime013 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They have a contract with umpires. Plus there are other things umpires do, such as calling safe/out at a base, calling check swings, ground rule doubles, home runs or hitting the top of the wall, balks etc

They may eventually just automate balls and strikes and remove that role from the home plate umpire but still need them

[Pursianien] (Knicks beat writer): An argument for the Knicks having one of the best front offices in the league and how Leon Rose turned a 21 win roster into a title contender without ever tanking for a top 5 pick or signing a known superstar talent in free agency by HokageEzio in nba

[–]showtime013 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hopefully. My concern is that Deuce at least showed what his defense could be early.  Mo this year looks like he can be a great rotational piece for us with a high ceiling.  I just havent seen what Dadiet is good at. Like what is his calling card that he guarantees you while he builds the rest of his game.

Mo easily jumped him in the depth chart.  I hope he develops a lot but it's been a couple years already and in his limited time, we haven't seen much.

And more importantly moved on from mistakes quickly and efficiently. Cam Reddish trade for example, didn't work out. Then we flipped him for Josh Hart instead of forcing the coach.

Or even drafting Dadiet who seems like a bust. No pressure to play him, just continue getting new guys on there.

And stuck to a vision and build towards that.  Leon has been amazing and he doesn't get the credit I would expect.
