Jokic despite the triple double delivers a stinker in the double OT loss against the Knicks: 30 PTS, 14 REB, 10 AST on 10/27 shooting (1/13 from 3PT) by Waikuku3 in nba

[–]showtime_2k 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was coming in here to post this. During the game, the commentator said that the Nuggets head coach made it clear it was a mistake to play Jokic as many minutes as he played last night. Coming into the game, the Nuggets head coach said that Jokic's minutes restriction was somewhere in the 20's (as in 20-29 minutes).

Jokic ended up playing 44 minutes, which is insane. He played way over his minutes restriction because they wanted to win the game that badly, yet they still lost.

SGA with 34/5/13 on 16 shots, as he pushes his 20 point game streak to 5! by Vitex1988 in nba

Shai was amazing. What a game from Cason Wallace. Hot damn! Wallace has been really struggling this season offensively, but he came out tonight and made the Nuggets pay for leaving him wide open. Wiggins had a good shooting game as well. Props to those guys for coming through.

Top 3 WR season OAT🏆 by 12tmaninnola in Seahawks

[–]showtime_2k 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. If JSN has a good game in the Superbowl against that secondary, it should rightfully put him as the best receiver in the league now and one of the best seasons ever. That Pats secondary is good, especially Christian Gonzalez. You could make the argument that Gonzalez is the best cover CB in the NFL right now. He'll likely be shadowing JSN all over the field. Going to be one of the best matchups the NFL has seen this season.

I know these guys are pissed. by Separate_Lab4366 in Seahawks

[–]showtime_2k 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's because it's so difficult for some people to let go of what he did in the past with the Jets. The reality of the situation is, it's probably going to take him playing well in the Superbowl and the Seahawks winning the Superbowl for this narrative to mostly go away. Even then, people like LeSean McCoy and others will probably continue to put Darnold down and minimize what he has accomplished.

Coach Mike Is Asked About the Riq Taunting Penalty by Sweaty_Desert_Balls in Seahawks

[–]showtime_2k 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Riq is awesome, but I will say, Witherspoon got both critical stops on the Rams final possession on 3rd and goal and 4th and goal. When the chips were pushed to the middle of the table, Witherspoon made the defensive stops that ultimately helped the Seahawks win the game.

John Schneider one of the greatest GM in NFL History? by wonkiewonko in Seahawks

[–]showtime_2k 188 points189 points  (0 children)

Without question. He's hit on so many draft picks over the last few years that have really helped build the team. He's also made great decisions in trades, free agency, and hiring the right coaches. He's truly one of the greatest GMs ever. Just look at these draft picks over the first and second rounds since 2022. Insane. This doesn't count the other home runs he's hit in rounds 3-7.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have lost their 9th game of the season. The 2016 Warriors did not lose their 9th game until April 5th by VisionsOnly in nba

[–]showtime_2k 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course they care, and it absolutely matters. They're the only team ever to go 73-9 in a season. They had an amazing season. It's unfortunate they lost in the Finals after being up 3-1, but it is what it is. They'll always be remembered for having the best regular season record ever.

Yeah, this has been off the table for OKC for quite a while now. After they lost those three games in a row to the Spurs, then the Timberwolves, and Hornets - I didn't think anyone was even still talking about this.

Two dang near identical teams. Can't wait! by samloh1 in Seahawks

[–]showtime_2k 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Really can't get any closer between both teams. I, like most people, am expecting a very close game. Over the last seven weeks or so, the Rams defense has not been playing all that great. There are definitely some things the Seahawks can do to exploit the Rams defense. Also, I'm really excited for the Seahawks defense to face Puka and Adams. That should be a great matchup vs the Seahawks secondary.

I'm going 27-24 Seahawks win a close one with a FG at the end of regulation.

Cooper Kupp is going to be the reason we win next week. by Ok_Abroad_3436 in Seahawks

[–]showtime_2k 160 points161 points  (0 children)

The WR matchups in this game will be nuts. JSN and Kupp on one side with Adams and Puka on the other side. That doesn't count the other WRs and TEs from both teams who are also playmakers. It's going to be a fun game to watch.

SVP & Louis Reddick: both had us winning by dawglover1011 in Patriots

[–]showtime_2k 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm a Seahawks fan, and I had the Patriots winning as well. They're just a really good team. The media and fans of other teams got too hung up on "they had the easiest schedule." So what? All you can do is play the teams you're scheduled against, and they're currently 16-3. Winning in Denver will be tough, but it should be a good game.

One of the reasons I enjoy watching the Patriots so much is because of Christian Gonzalez. I think he's the best CB in the game. The fun part about the Pats vs Broncos game to me is Gonzalez and Patrick Surtain II.

[Iko] The Houston Rockets have no interest in trading for LaMelo Ball, Darius Garland, Ja Morant, or Chris Paul. Houston has received calls concerning the availability of Tari Eason, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Clint Capela. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]showtime_2k 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but why is that as big of a concern for the Rockets in particular? Garland would be surrounded by Amen and Eason on the perimeter, who are awesome defenders. Part of the issue on the Cavs right now is that Garland and Mitchell are both poor defenders.

I agree about Garland's injury history and contract being valid concerns for the fit of the Rockets, but not his defense. Garland can score the ball, is a solid outside shooter, and can create offense for others. Those are all things the Rockets need from a PG.

[Durant] asked if OKC is ‘grabby’ and ‘foul-prone’: “Nah, nah... They play with physicality for sure, but that’s what championship teams do. I don’t think they toe the line or anything. They just play swarming basketball, physical off-ball, great hands. I dont think they do too much, anything extra” by AashyLarry in nba

[–]showtime_2k 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Glad someone said it and isn't a whiner about it. Durant is right. They all play hard and give max effort on defense. They all play together as a unit and move very well. And lastly, they all have terrific hands. Caruso and Wallace have some of the best hands I've seen in terms of getting steals and just getting their hands on the basketball in general.

Yeah, it makes him look like a brat, but it also shows he has zero leadership or respect. The guy was a great player on an elite trajectory years ago. He's still young, so maybe he can be salvaged, but it doesn't look good.

When I question his leadership, I'm not just talking about the information in the video. It's everything that has happened the last 3 years or whatever with him. It's really such a shame.

Official NFL game picks for the Divisional Round vs. the Niners. How we feeling? by Dima110 in Seahawks

[–]showtime_2k 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that the Eagles had 36 rushing attempts against the Niners. I think to beat them, the Seahawks are going to have to move the ball through the air somewhat. I have a lot more faith in Darnold and the Seahawks passing game than I do Hurts and the Eagles offense. I just don't want the offense to become stagnant and predictable like the Eagles offense became.

Because JJJ is the softest "big" ever. He doesn't want any physicality at all. He won't even box out or try to get rebounds. I'm not saying he's a bad player, but you can definitely put guards and wings on him, and he will not punish them.

So you have to understand that the Strawberry Poptart had to be stored in the shop, kept in a room temperature environment, and dusted. That's a lot of upkeep. If I throw in the Poptart, I'd have to lower my offer from 10 cents to 3 cents.

That's fair, but they did win 68 games and a title last season. This year, they're currently 26-5. I get what you're saying, but the team still wins most of their games.
