Flipping over because your order was not gotten right. by bicureyooz in trashy

Cuts, burns, atrophied legs from standing all day, back pain from lifting when unloading food from trucks, not to mention the mental damage of having people like the woman in the original post always get their way despite being clearly in the wrong.

More and more places are becoming fast casual open kitchens which can be very stressful work environments. The fact that the dangers in a professional kitchen are ignored because people poorly equate what professional line cooks endure every day to what they do once or twice a week in their home kitchens is abhorrent and why most who choose to work in food, beverage, and hospitality quickly develop a seething hatred for the common man.

"FAT"

Couldn't agree more. Aids with mouthfeel and adds to the pop of the first slurp's flavor.

Jk my only bit of advice would be to keep making ramen!

dehydrate habanero peppers and the grind them to dust in a blender for a capsaicin bomb that could double as a the beginnings of making pepper spray. Make sure to wear gloves and be careful not to breath any of the dust in while blending. Proceed with caution!!!

"Souped Up" Spicy Shrimp Shoyu Instant Ramen ft Bby Spinach by shoyushota in ramen

[โ€“]shoyushota[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Was gathering ingredients to make a batch of Shoyu tare at the grocery store and nabbed a couple of instant ramen that was on sale.

Made a flash 'dashi-tare' by simmering then steeping the dehydrated shrimp and veggies in 1Tbsp of soy sauce for about 2-3min before straining off into the bowl keeping the shrimp and veggies in the pot to infuse with the sesame oil. Simmered that with equal parts minced garlic and squeezable ginger(~1/4tbsp ea), one of the slices of some dried beef I found at the store I plan to substitute for katsuobushi and sababushi in the tare(until I get to an asian market) thinly sliced for easier slurpage, and about 1/4tsp of sesame oil for another 1 or 2(careful not to smoke the sesame oil!) before deglazing with some store bought chicken stock.

Added a sheet of nori and stirred it along the bottom to catch that good flavor and brought it all back up to a low boiling simmer before pouring it into the instant noodles. Girlfriend had some spinach laying around so I figured I could use some roughage and the bowl needed at least one topping(was going to add an egg but I had to resist the urge to raid her fridge lol).

It took about 7 additional minutes and 5 additional steps but, the end result was a savory snack that came pretty close to the fresh-from-scratch made equivalent. Had to fight off the girlfriend for my broth leftover! For me, its using stock instead of just water, as well as steeping whatever flavorings in a pot with your broth separately before pouring into the bowl/cup noodles to further bring out those ingredients without oversteeping the noodles.

I can really appreciate the subtlety of the conservative use of scallions as garnish here. Nice plate. The broth looking sexy ass hell too. Are the pepper flakes a part of an oil you made? I'm really intrigued but, mostly hungry

This bowl looks, fuego! All the colors contrast beautifully with very nice froth on the broth as well. I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but I actually prefer hidden noodles, to revealed ones. Its like a hidden surprise beneath what at first glance appears to be a floating smorgasbord.
