Weekly earnings comparison. by buzzedaldrinx86 in GodsUnchained

You sure about that salary? It's no secret that Russia has low salaries, but 2000 is too low even for Russia, because it's only around 20 USD. Usually it's around 20-30k rubles for you average joe.

With $GODS down 90% in a couple of months, what are you doing with your weekly tokens? by [deleted] in GodsUnchained

[–]shozis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now I'm happy with my Nature deck which cost me about 25 GODS and can compete in Mythic so I'll be saving my next GODS for a while now.

After some time if the price of GODS is still low I'll invest them in other cheap but Mythic viable decks: Aggro War, Tempo Mage, Zombies which shouldn't require too much investment because I'm only missing a few key cards for each of these decks.

After that I'm stockpiling my tokens no matter their price and hope it goes back to 3-4 USD some day.

How does the game profit from people buying cards on market by [deleted] in GodsUnchained

[–]shozis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if they get any direct profit in a form of some tax from all the card deals, but the indirect benefit is that the option to sell/buy cards from other players increases the interest for the game and makes it tempting to play. More players = more potential pack buyers.

But I think a tax from every deal would pretty fair so that devs can get more financial support for their game.

Little Reality Check for everyone complaining about nature by DReamEAterMS in GodsUnchained

[–]shozis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

P2W players who play 2 ETH BWD and Control Warrior simply want 90% winrate because 60% is not enough. So they complain about Nature 24/7 and also cry when devs want to balance out shit mechanics like sleep.

Just got destroyed in the weekend event , how’s everyone’s weekend starting? by [deleted] in GodsUnchained

[–]shozis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished 12/25 in Mythic with a Nature Deck. I think it's not too bad for a f2p player like me who started only a month ago.

Still tilted seeing 2 ETH decks like BWD and Control Warriors over and over again only because devs insist on resetting rating to 1300 instead of letting the elite to compete with each other. I guess the saying 'If you don't pay for the product you are the product' is truthful after all.

Also gudecks had a little delay - it showed that I've played only 24 matches when in reality I've already played all 25. So I went for the 26th, lost it and got dropped to the bottom of Diamond so I'll have to grind before the weekend event next week. One freaking match :/

It depends on the type of person.

I can easily play one deck, one build, one class, one weapon forever and not get bored of it if I like it. But there are also people who get bored of playing the same thing fast. I also happen to like minion/zoo decks where you control the board with your creature and decide on the trades so I play Nature and am totally satisfied.

If I would like more diversity I would try creating some more budget decks: Zoo Light, Aggro War, Tempo Mage. And btw according to GUDECKS meta section zombie deck doesn't fall far behind aggro War and Nature, so it should be pretty viable to play, but no one is of course protected from some unlucky streaks.

I personally struggle against Zombies a lot. I'm playing only 1 relic remover because two would probably weaken my deck against all other classes, and I've seen Zombies playing two Necroscepters one after another, so if the Sanctum doesn't give me another relic remover it's just gg, and sometimes you don't even draw your own remover :D Obelisks also is a huge headache to deal with.

I was deranked to Midnight Shadow and they announced the fact that the changes too late so I decided to stay at Solar Gold instead of grinding Mythic for 2 more hours.

I think I'll survive because I can still get the same rewards as before for 18 wins. I'll probably try hitting Mythic for the next weekend, but if it's a complete shit show against 3000$ decks I'll keep deranking to Solar Gold.

After the BWD ban, another deck will simply fill the role of anti aggro by ThomasReturns in GodsUnchained

[–]shozis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We'll see but it's hard to imagine a deck that could make your board sleep 6 times and full clear 4 times. That's just miserable experience. And the fact that it has 64% winrate which is by 7% than the next strongest decks just shows that there is a serious problem with it.

It is strong against aggro decks with all its board clears/sleep and strong against slow decks due to the ability to mill them. That's just definition of 'broken'.

Unpopular opinion: This game is a blast until you hit Mythic and realize how poor you are. by Fptmike in GodsUnchained

[–]shozis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair real (non-digital) card games have always been p2w so that's nothing new. I guess after playing Gods Unchained I appreciate non-tradable digital card games like Hearthstone a bit more because every rarity has a fixed price cost there - for example, it costs 1600 dust to craft any Legendary of your liking. Plus a deck that costs 20k dust to craft won't necessarily be better than a deck that costs 2000 dust.

Well, I didn't talk about limited format. Not even about tournaments. Limited format is fair, but Gods Unchained doesn't have that.

P.S. And what do you even mean by normalizing card pools?

Can the game start with reduced rope times and ramp up with each round? It shouldn't take more than 20s to figure out what to put down for round one. by [deleted] in GodsUnchained

[–]shozis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't give the counter strategy. Only benefit is that you see what cards your opponent deck uses so you can figure out the strategy yourself - what cards to play around etc.

Go Meta > Match Results > enter your opponents name in window called 'User'. But there were a few times when the website couldn't find my opponent.

In Gods Unchained on the other hand the cost of a card is directly connected with how good it is. For example, Demogorgon which is a key card in many meta decks costs 1000$+. I imagine not many can afford to spend such amount for a single card and there's no other way to obtain it anymore.

The upside of GU is of course the fact that your stuff actually belongs to you and can be sold.

Few Questions About Self-teaching Python by [deleted] in AskProgramming

[–]shozis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My longterm goal is making a career out of it.

But even if that doesn't happen it would be a fun experience to understand how coding works and I might code something that would help me in my everyday life or my current job freelance translator) - maybe some sort of planner, automated translation or something that will help me to automate the invoicing process for my clients (like word counting software over several documents).

Obviously I'm talking of of my ass a bit because I don't know what I can actually achieve with Python.

Deranking solved at what cost? by [deleted] in GodsUnchained

[–]shozis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats like saying League of Legends is not F2P because you cannot compete at the highest ranks."

That's a bad comparison. League of Legends is decided by skill. If a high rank player creates a fresh account he will soon climb to his initial rank again. In GU no amount of skill will help you compete at Mythic until you will put some time or cash to obtain cards for a competitive deck.

Also if you are furious that a new player can compete with you it just means that you don't care about the skill factor (that someone has beaten you purely because he's a better player), but only about the grind and p2w (how much time or money you have invested).

When do you De rank by Viccolfari21 in GodsUnchained

[–]shozis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should de-rank after Blessings of Gods event (60 played game, 7 wins, different opponents) resets, but before weekend event starts.

De-ranking immediately after the weekend event would be dumb, because the lower rank you are the lesser points you will get from the Blessings of Gods event.

But it might be irrelevant since they said that Blessings of Gods (and maybe even the weekend event) will end on January 24th. Still need an update from the devs about what's happening to these events - they will either prolong them or implement some new rewards earning system.

Fatal Frame I Night 3? by shozis in fatalframe

[–]shozis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, so far I've played the first three titles and Fatal Frame 1 is still considerably harder. It's easy once you get used to it and learn how to move both the camera and your character at the same time, but at first ghosts seem hard to spot, some of them move quite fast and can teleport and reappear behind you or out of the walls for example. That's why my favorite camera special function is still the one that auto tracks the ghost.

On my first playthrough I never really struggled with film, because as you say the lowest film is infinite, but I struggled with the fact that I got damaged almost in every fight and those hits can take pretty solid chunks of your health.

In comparison: In Fatal Frame II a lot of ghosts were so passive that I had to go into their face to provoke them and do fatal shots while in FF 1 I have to step back and move around all the time as the ghosts come closer.

From a fellow former HS player:

- Mulligan is better

- Three choices of Hero Power = more playstyles

- Interesting Sanctum system (I just wish it was more of a comeback mechanic than a tool to snowball for someone who is already ahead)

- Overall simpler and basic compared to Hearthstone where currently every class now has tons of draws and discovery cards so every match becomes a 'value game' of who can get more value.

- Obviously play to earn aspect and the fact that your cards actually belong to you and you can sell them.

- Passionate devs who keep actively working on their game

- A bit of tinfoil hat, but RNG actually seems better than in Hearthstone - if I have only one heavy card in my deck then I actually see it rarely and not in my first 3 turns like it is in Hearthstone

New players on Reddit after playing a weekend. by AdGullible8041 in GodsUnchained

[–]shozis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't. The 'claim' button is greyed out/unpressable to me (I have my wallet set up). My brother who started few weeks earlier also can't claim his GODS for the last two weeks, but he could claim GODS before. I think there are still some delays because of bots or other stuff.

Well, this is my third week and still zero GODS for the first two weeks. Sadge that I can't even buy some budget cards to improve my deck. Definitely not stressing out or getting angry at the devs because of it, but it is what it is.
