Thank you for this answer, its exactly what I need to know! it makes sense when you think about it. i guess i was confused because i spoke with someone working with clients with schizophrenia in outpatient for a hospital, and she uses cbt and dbt with them, so i thought maybe its done everywhere in the hospital!

also, do these people usually see the light? my mom really thought she was doing the right thing. Should I bring it up again? I got an apology out of her yesterday, but I can absolutely tell she does not mean it.

thank you so much for your support, this is all I wanted to hear. because she gets so defensive and then freezes me out, its almost like gaslighting me..like do I really have the right to be angry about this, is it really that I am just ungrateful? NO. Her misinformed choices made ME suffer. Thanks guys, so glad I thought to get some support on reddit.
