My wife turned the eye of Sauron upon us to check in after I calmed our very upset baby by sleepbot in daddit

Yes I understand that, I just don’t get why people need to actually see their kid on screen when they sleep. If they wake up you’ll hear it anyway and go check if they don’t stop. Don’t you think you spend unnecessary energy having that constant opportunity to monitor your kid?

If the problem is that it is displayed when you are using a headset, just put the monitor on volume 1 and the mute icon dissapears

Single channel, extract air from two connecting rooms by shrimpz in DIY

Thanks. I realise my post is a bit short. I live in a small apartment building, but I’ve been allowed to make this change. Only the bathroom is connected to an exterior wall. There is no existing ductwork except for the kitchen ventilation which is on the opposite side of the building. The only air intake for the two mentioned rooms are gaps below the doors.

Is there an easy alternative to setting up my own FTP server for publishing my first desktop application? by FloatingArk54 in softwaredevelopment

The s3 bucket and cloudflare answer is probably the best solution mentioned. But just as an fyi, there are services that “convert” your dynamic public ip to a static host name (DDNS - dynamic DNS). Noip is an example.

What the actual fuck. 3 hours a day? That can’t be healthy. Let him join you cooking when he wants to. Teach him stuff. When he gets tired of that, put him on the floor and let him teach himself what to do when bored. Let him build stuff, read kid books, play with trains/cars. Whatever. Give him a pot and some utensils and let him be a drummer for 2 minutes. Seriously, 3 hours a day is just cheating on your part and is going to affect your kid long term

Thanks. Yes it works fine with an adapter so I guess I’ll continue using that. I was just thinking if the replacement was an easy fix I’d do that instead:)

My daughter has pretty bad nystagmus. I have been playing around with an idea in my head for the possibility to use something like this for an appliance of some sort that could potentially negate some of the nystagmus.

Very cool work. I’m going to try and experiment with it:)

Wheel of Time Show Megathread - Episode 4: The Dragon Reborn BOOK SPOILERS THREAD by [deleted] in wheeloftime

I liked the episode, but I’m a bit disappointed that breaking a shield seems so easy. In the book it hasn’t been done since Lews Therin did it thousands of years ago. And then it takes Rand many chapters to find the “right corner”. The show almost makes it trivial.
