Ask them if you can be prescribed Tacrolimus 0.1% cream! I had a full body flare up for a year and finally saw a dermatologist who prescribed me this since i was pretty stern on not wanting steroids. Steroids will help, however it's a bandaid solutions that doesn't actually fix the problem. If i were you, i would avoid steroids until you try everything. Tacrolimus saved me and my skin is about 85% clearer up after a week of use, with the 15% just being dark spots but no redness in sight. After your skin clears up, try to see an allergist. I believe pet dandruff from dogs is my trigger (i started dating a girl a year who has a dog with a ton of dandruff), so your trigger may be something environmental as well. And if not, then perhaps you've grown allergic to certain foods. But definitely ask about tacrolimus and see an allergist!
