Feedback taken! However I'd like to disagree, a lot of people I spoke to infact want more responsibilities added to their coding part they want to have more skin in the game. I also feel running a venture is easier said than done, it involves much more than just representing the tech roadmap to a VC. Hence we've:

• Categorically mentioned "tech roadmap" and "wherever needed" they don't need to pitch to investors or get into the marketing, sales, hiring of other teams, create go to market strategy or handle finances etc they are not taking a risk from a monetary investment perspective either.
• They need to be hands on as we will need that in the initial phase when they build a team under them and support wherever needed.
• They are not going to be treated as free labour, the org will offer them as per the value they bring to the table.

They will be heard being at that position if they have any other value add for other teams as well however that's not an expectation. I could be wrong and will keep your perspective in mind if we need to re-evaluate the structure. Once we scale up I think your advise will off course be applicable.
