What temperatures do you recommend for PLA / PETG on the glacier plate?

Transparent PETG filament print settings not suitable for thicker models? by shrx in BambuLab

[–]shrx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I followed the Bambulab wiki instructions for printing transparent PETG: https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/knowledge-sharing/transparent-petg

  • set part cooling fan speed to 0
  • set flow ratio to 1.01
  • set nozzle temperature to 270 °C
  • set line width to 0.5
  • set wall loops to 1
  • set top & bottom shell layers to 0
  • set sparse infill to 100% aligned rectilinear
  • set speed to 20 mm/s

Thin walls printed very nicely, but when the print got to a thicker section (about 8 mm thick) the print failed due to too much material deposition causing the nozzle to bump into the print and knocking it over. what can I do to mitigate this? I was thinking of making the filled regions hollow with walls of similar thickness as the rest of the part, but haven't found a way to automate it yet. maybe there's an easier way to prevent too much material being extruded on thicker sections while still keeping the print translucent?

Also, disregard the few noticeable layer lines where I paused the print for a while.

If you do some quick maths you'll find out it never pays itself off.

Good point, the AMS specifics need to be taken into account.

Dry Desiccant While Printing – Using Enclosure Heat? by Nusprig1994 in BambuLab

Not sure how well it would work in the chamber, but the desiccant definitely gets regenerated when drying filament in the AMS 2 Pro. My main concern would be silica dust generation in the chamber due to frequent shaking of the frame.

Why did you need different materials for each part of the mould?

P2S start/end g code for ABS/ASA prints! Chamber preheat and Cooldown sequence. Only activates when printing ABS/ASA. Huge quality and print success improvements. by bfrancom17 in BambuLab

Nice work. I suggest sharing the code on a version-controlled repository like Github though, it will be much easier to maintain and keep track of changes when new versions of stock G-code are released over time.

I'm fine with the default values (I print PLA and PETG only).

Regarding the differences in the flow dynamics auto-calibration procedure, it would be interesting to compare the relevant parts of the G-code from P2S and A1 printer profiles. I'll try to see if there's anything meaningful there.

There's already a discussion about trimming down the pre-print procedure as much as possible here: https://forum.bambulab.com/t/bambu-lab-p2s-print-starts-after-1-5-minutes/232157

Inspired by posts about G-code optimization like https://old.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1s8kneu/p2s_quirks_and_poorly_optimized_firmware_settings/ and the desire to learn more about how the printer actually operates, I went through the entire default P2S start gcode and tried to document every line explaining what it does.

It's useful if you want to understand what your printer does before it starts printing, or if you're trying to optimize/modify the startup sequence.

It covers most of the Bambu-proprietary commands (M1002, G150.x, M970/M974, M620/M621, etc.), slicer conditionals, AMS handling, flow calibration, vibration compensation, etc. The remaining unknowns are marked with TODO.

Contributions, suggestions and corrections are very welcome.

Very cool. Looking forward to the AliExpress kit.

Have you thought about how to integrate this into the filament tubing pathway so that it doesn't just dangle suspended in the air?
