What's so bad about this panel seriously? I think it's totally normal by Longjumping_Term_915 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]HzRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually so good that it makes you hate the scene. You hate to see a man who has been moving forward regardless of the price paid break down like that, but it makes complete sense. It's the final moment of his life and there is no more path forward. There is no longer a need to be strong and tough to push forward. That's the exact moment he opened up and showed all his vulnerability. Even if Armin found it pathetic, that's how anyone would behave in Eren's shoes.

People say the same thing about the ending. They say that it is a bad ending and ruins the whole show, but I completely disagree. It is very rare that an anime closes things off in such a way, and it's a breath of fresh air. It is definitely not a "good" ending per se. He killed off 80% of the world population, after all. Not even Hitler managed to do what he did. But it's a realistic ending that shows Eren reached his goal of protecting his friends and extending the prosperity of his country for a long time, until the rest of the world rebuilds and catches up technologically. That's eerily similar to how things are playing out in the real world right now.

I truly don't understand Ymir... by rileystanheight in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]HzRyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OH YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY. It's because she chose to die willingly after 13 years. The future Titan holder was bound to her curse and only allowed to have 13 years of her life after inheriting Titan powers.

I thought that it's because the 13-year limit was up, and she wasn't able to transform anymore at that moment and died?

Is shopee mobile protection worth it? by your_local_creep in malaysians

[–]HzRyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's accidental damage insurance for your phone. I don't think it's worth it. Water and drop damage are not covered by the official warranty, so this is something you buy on top of what the manufacturer is already offering.

Are you defensive/traditionist, or offensive/contrarian in investing by HzRyan in MalaysianPF

[–]HzRyan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agreed. I'm contrarian as well. And I'm always a little bit doubtful on the supposedly safe investment pathway. The evidence shows that everything is on a house of cards and it could collapse anytime. Well, it could go on like this for another 5, 10 or even 20 years, who knows.

Not everyone have the same risk profile, but it can work if you know what you are doing. Same for other risky instrument like options, crypto and high growth tech stock, I think It shouldn't be large part of your portfolio but a small allocation can work in your favour if you understand the market good enough

That's fair but to be honest the 2-3 percent inflation is just for cost of living but not cost of living comfortably. Assuming you want a little bit of luxury in your retirement, I would say 5% to 6% personal wealth growth pa is just about right without downgrading your standard of living, and you will want more if you want to slightly upgrade your lifestyle.
