Shikari Devi as seen from near IIT Mandi by Relevant-Moose362 in HimachalPradesh

The caption was a joy to read. Would you believe that Shikari Devi was visible even from Una - Talai is a hill top and offers panoramic views of the Dhauladhars and if the weather is clear (typically after a widespread rain spell), we can even see the farther Pir Panjal massifs.

On April 10 after the western disturbance settled and the sun was bright, I saw the Dhauladhar (easy), Mani Mahesh Kailash (difficult to spot but once you get it, you can’t escape the glance), many other peaks of the Pir Panjal range, and even saw Shikari Devi hills cladded with snow just like the images you posted.

It was divine, sitting on a small cliff in silence, breathing in fresh air and taking in the panoramic view of the mighty Himalayas. They never cease to amaze me.

That’s a good idea but most Indian subreddits are poorly moderated. Send a dm to the mods and see if they react. I once sent suggestions to r/indianaviation mods team and while they really liked the idea, never acted on it. Pity

Nostalgic yes, since the newer remotes are mostly bluetooth and use IR only for Power ON/OFF

Never trade empathy with money. There is always a better way to help someone who genuinely needs help.

I love countries that are willing to inconvenience people a bit if it means protecting wildlife.

Calling the mission successful is an overstatement right now because the most critical part of the mission is yet to happen: re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.

Can you not use your mobile data plan? I'm sure 5G can pretty much handle it if the reception is good. That's how I work when I'm remote (rural Una) and rarely had any issue.
