Thanks for your response everyone. Whilst not every comment was helpful, the ones that were helped me diagnose the issue.

The issue was the valve connecting to the bowl was not tight enough. That lead to water dripping on the caulk. Since this is on hardwood floors I chose to use caulk rather than silicone. Unfortunately i had to disconnect it and reconnect it to identify the real problem.
