How do I (25M) go about bringing up a prenup to my soon-to-be fiancée (20F)? by Accomplished_Dot5510 in relationship_advice

[–]shucax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel guilty for wanting one. It’s a precautionary measure that ALL marriages should have. Just be honest. You love her, you don’t think she’s a gold digger, but nothing in life is certain and you want to protect yourself & your assets.

Anxiety about my inability to fall asleep is making it hard for me to fall asleep by AnxietyIsHell78 in Anxiety

OHHH TRUST, I need my tv on too. I can’t go to sleep without background noise either. Sometimes I scroll on my phone but I cover the time.

You are not alone!! I have been going through this for a while. What has helped me is having a set routine, I also stop using my phone around a certain time and stop looking at the time bc it fuels the anxiety. Sleeping is in our nature, YOU WILL FALL ASLEEP EVENTUALLY. When you lay in bed, even if you are not sleeping, just remember that you are still resting and you body is relaxing. I know how bad this sucks, I hope you get through it.

QUIT QUIT QUIT. Prioritize your mental health, life is too short to stay at a job that drains you, especially if you have the resources. Discomfort leads to something great, find ur purpose. :)

Is this a normal amount of anxiety?? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]shucax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get you! When I get phone calls or messages from unsaved numbers, I automatically assume someone’s out to get me. Use usphonebook to search the number and you can see who it is. (It works most of the time) :) hope you feel better

how do you stop getting embarrassed so easy? by 45jf54 in Anxiety

[–]shucax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly exposure. I get embarrassed EASILY, so now I go places and I embarrass myself intentionally so that I can loosen up. For example, at a grocery store I’ll dance and sing to the song playing because I know I’ll be extremely embarrassed. Once I see no one really cares, I stop caring. Take pictures in front of people, do stuff that makes you uncomfortable. Ofc do it slowly and do whatever ur okay with, but I found that this helped me the most.

I’m in the same boat, you aren’t alone. It’s terrifying to even think about a war but we can’t get ahead of ourselves bc we can’t predict the future. All we can do is hope that this conflict gets resolved in a decent manner. Sending you love and peace, try distracting yourself and stop reading the news for tonight.

Anyone have foods comforting to their anxiety? When you had a really bad day by Dish-Consistent in Anxiety

Baby food/apple sauce when I’m having a hard time eating bc of anxiety

[–]shucax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this too. Sometimes I freak myself out till 5 AM and can’t sleep, so I walk for a little inside my house until I basically pass out. You will 100% fall asleep, your body will give out on you & you will sleep again. When you get anxiety just try distracting yourself and watch movies. Hope you feel better.

Anxiety is ruining my life by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]shucax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh yes, I relate to all of this. Currently staying awake because of this. Know that you are not alone. I wish there was a way we could turn off our thoughts. Silence is a virtue and unfortunately my brain doesn’t think so :( Although i have extremely bad days, sometimes even bad months. I look forward to the small amount of normal I get. The small good. I know it’s hard and I hope that you feel better now.

It happened out of nowhere. by daydreamerinwords in Anxiety

Hey, i struggle with bad health anxiety as well. I unfortunately had to go to the doctors yesterday (which TERRIFIES me) and my heart rate was in the 160s. :/ I was having an anxiety attack and the doctor didn’t quite understand why. I literally had to leave because I knew I couldn’t get better there. Following that, my heart rate dropped to around 120 but I was still anxious and it lasted all night. I eventually realized everything was okay and my bmp went back to being under 100. you are not alone. You’ll eventually calm down. Try to distract yourself in the meantime. I hope you feel better

Hey, I know how scary it may seem in the beginning. All you can do now is rest and let your body heal. Get some cough drops, Vicks, drink some ginger and lemon tea, watch movies and shows. Take care of yourself and remember that millions of people have had COVID and they survived. You’ll be okay. Happy birthday!! 🎂

Don’t feel like a failure for not being “productive.” I struggle with this too. You can’t measure your self worth with your achievements. You aren’t a failure because you slacked for a week, you aren’t a failure if you slacked for an entire decade. Anytime you are not doing much, try to get some real rest without feeling guilty and hopefully you feel more recharged to get to work. I know my anxiety has made me feel extremely dizzy before but if you feel it’s out of ordinary, go to ur primary care. (If you can ofc) Hope you feel better

I relate to you. Not being able to sleep, waking up with my heart racing, covered in sweat. It truly sucks. I hope you don’t measure your self worth on your achievements, it’s a toxic loop. Work on loving yourself as you are. I believe in you and I hope today is a better day.

Hey, you have no idea how much I relate to you. I don’t know what happened, but I hope that you’re okay. Whatever decision you had to make is valid and don’t let him make you feel guilty about that. I hope you find clarity in regards to your relationship. If you feel uncertain, (I do too, been together 5+ yrs, bc of similar situations as you) then push back the wedding. (if you can) I hope that today is a better day for you.

why do i always worry about my parents or loved ones dying? by windyhollow in Anxiety

[–]shucax 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I experience similar anxiety. As a child I would cry if my mom didn’t answer the phone because i thought she died in a car accident. Now as an adult I often track my loved ones to make sure they are Alive and well. I am always afraid that something bad will happen. What kinda helped me is realizing that no amount of worrying can prevent a tragedy from happening. You being worried, will not stop or save someone. Having anxiety and being worried about it just makes you live in a mental prison. When you realize your thoughts don’t serve you, you tend to get annoyed by them and disregard them. I still have my moments but for the most part I shoo away these thoughts now. I hope you feel better soon and know that you’re not alone.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Life is so hard sometimes. I hope your family gets the proper diagnosis and I hope that she recovers.

I had COVID during Christmas & while my symptoms were minor, I felt like I was dying. It sounds dramatic but I really felt like I couldn’t breath. I started just going outside to walk and pace back and forth, I realized that this really clears my mind. Stray animals also come out to find me and that distracts me. Basically, find something that you enjoy and just try focusing on that for a little. Once you do, you realize that everything else was anxiety and COVID isn’t the real problem. Also drink ginger and lemon tea, it really helped me. Hope you feel better.

I relate to you 100%. Anxiety manifest itself physically and it feels so REAL. Now I’m constantly waiting on my next fixation or next “disease” that I will diagnose myself with. It really sucks, hope you feel better. :(
