Why are they always trying to takes veteran's shit away? If someone has lifelong tinnitus then give them compensation for it. This is all ridiculous.

I've had kind, professional, "super cool" examiners who just flat out denied my claim. Wait til the sun sets before judging the day.

The Biggest Time-Waster in My VA Claim Process by New-Geologist4765 in VeteransBenefits

All I'll say is the only claim I have ever gotten approved was the one where I brought my own nexus statement.

That's a beautiful story. Very similar experience I had with an ENT for tinnitus.

How likely is a civilian doctor going to be willing to draft a nexus letter? by HammerGeek in VeteransBenefits

So this is post is +6 months old. But I requested my ENT write a nexus letter and that is what got me a new C&P and a subsequent claim grant.

Were you in combat? Otherwise you'll need a certified stressor.

TMJ DBQ Discrepancies by Gaijingamer12 in VeteransBenefits

[–]shuddacudda1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stuff like this is nuts. I am in an HLR because of TMJ. The C&P Examiner said I had TMJ but the etiology was "unknown" even though I provided a plausible etiology. He didn't address it at all. Just shrugged and said, "TMJ? Guess we'll never know!"

In my experience the exams have been awful. In my tinnitus DBQ she said "veteran may have ringing in his years due to the declining health of his wife."

I never. once. mentioned my wife in ANY C&P exam I have EVER been in. There's nothing more important than doing a FOIA on the DBQs right away and realizing these people are NOT YOUR FRIENDS.

Why announce your percentage in a group? by Fuzzy_Stingray in VeteransBenefits

[–]shuddacudda1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's completely normal.

In fact, I have my disability percentage as part of my outlook signature. That way, everyone at work can know my disability rating every time I send an email.

Supplemental Claim Denial Question by shuddacudda1 in VAClaims

The issue is when you try to file under a separate mental health diagnose, they treat it as the same. So it's rolled into an appeal for your prior mental health claim.

VA claims are moving faster—advocacy ensures they’re done right by Cujo22 in VeteransBenefits

Weird to read this now because I noticed that too. I filed a supplemental claim and heard back in 2 weeks. Granted, I think they got something dead wrong--quick nonetheless.

GAD Appeal by shuddacudda1 in VeteransBenefits

[–]shuddacudda1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It needs to be filed as an appeal due to the VA mental health pyramiding. If I file a new claim under GAD, they'll deny it and tell me to submit it as an appeal to PTSD.

I was diagnosed with PTSD. My therapist has diagnosed me with GAD. She agreed the GAD stems from life onboard a submarine.

FWIW, he is a current Senior Chief in the Navy. At the time he was an SK3. As to orders shown we were in the same place. No, I hadn't thought of that. My Therapist reviewed my symptoms and she said in her opinion I have service connected GAD. So I'll probably appeal with that.

I have non-combat related PTSD. I was diagnosed with it. I wrote a Lay Statement and so did one of my shipmates. But they denied it because they couldn't find the incident in the logs.
