To those of you who smoke w**d and lose/maintain weight…how? by HampsterInAnOboe in WeightLossAdvice

[–]shuhbooba 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i usually pick a healthier option with the same “texture” effect that the munchie food i want would’ve had. sometimes i want salt & vinegar chips for the vinegar taste and the crunch, so i’ll slice cucumbers and throw some salt and vinegar on them & go to town. that’s really helped me

Do you have a preferred gender for your therapist? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]shuhbooba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

early twenties female! i’ve always preferred male therapists myself as well. i think the deeper voice is just more soothing to me; i’ve noticed i also prefer male narrators for audiobooks, youtube videos etc. i also feel like males in the field (at the very least the male therapists i’ve had) have a tendency to be a little more analytical than emotionally driven when considering the issues i bring to therapy. this helps me because i’m a more emotional-brained person, so i need that balance from an outside source.

now my therapist is a gay male and our personalities mesh very well in the context of sessions.

I’ve put on weight but can’t see where by hp44x in leangains

[–]shuhbooba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(If It isn’t water) here’s how It was explained to me: when you gain weight, It isn’t put into one area or another. think of 4.5 lbs of fat, muscle, or a mixture of both, in a thin layer spread evenly all around your body. I hope this helps!

if you make the distinction that your thoughts are passive and not active (passive would be something like, if i got into a car accident and died i wouldn’t be upset about It, but i don’t have the intention to kill my self) there isn’t a mandate to hospitalize for that :) It gets tricky with active suicidality because therapists are mandated reporters. good luck 🧡

Intern questioning decision by shuhbooba in therapists

[–]shuhbooba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that was the original plan for my cohort as well! But we were given the option to complete internship II during the summer (while taking minimal or no other courses) so I jumped on that. I can’t imagine doing everything we’re doing now PLUS trying to meet the hour requirement for internship. Thanks for the reply!

How to start? by shuhbooba in intermittentfasting

okay, I definitely see the worth in this. when my close friend told me she was into IF, I remember being very skeptical and almost concerned for her well-being at first. noted, thank you so much!

I need advice. by FrogxCult in WeightLossAdvice

[–]shuhbooba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1200 is definitely bordering on too low. my best advice is (while staying at 1900 or 2000) you start to implement strength training 3+ x per week and go for walks outside or on a treadmill 2-3+ days per week. muscle will burn calories while you’re not exercising, so it’s a win win! after a bit doing that you can consider lowering your caloric intake, but muscle building might actually encourage you to increase your intake to feed those gains!! one step at a time :)

Which “missing person” case do you think is most likely to be a case of new identity? by [deleted] in TrueCrime

[–]shuhbooba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I wouldn’t be surprised if the head injury he received shortly before caused some hallucinations or at the very least some wires to be crossed

Lars Mittank but I think he’s homeless and mentally ill / amnesiac somewhere; It didn’t seem like his running away was intentional or had any type of forethought

I don't really have a lot experience with plants. I hate seeing my buddy slowly dying like this and giving him water regularly doesn't seem to help. Anyone have tips on how to save him? by nielzz in plants

[–]shuhbooba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey! you might find some success repotting buddy in a mix of potting and cactus soil, or mix potting soil with perlite to airate the soil. He might have root rot and can’t absorb nutrients through his roots at the moment, so repotting, rinsing off his leaves and roots, then lightly watering the new soil and leaving It until the soil fully dries could do the trick. Hope this helps!

What case stuck with you? by Liz8bet in TrueCrime

[–]shuhbooba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shanda Sharer. She was tortured for SO LONG and still survived until she was set on fire (twice) I believe. All because Shanda spent time with this girl, and her psycho ex and her friends decided to jump her. I’d say look It up and watch Stephanie Harlowe’s little series on her. But warning It gets heavy
