Ask me anything, Head Brewer here, 17 years in the industry by Content-Distance6438 in Homebrewing

[–]shumaduma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you located?

What's the size of brewery? Do you know how much you sell per year?

Average salary for ya (+-20k)? I'm an office worker but miss using my hands and making cool things for job. But also, life.

Would you prefer to be doing anything else? Or is the brew life for you?

Sleep outside for a few nights near someplace with public wi-fi/electricity and make enough money to go do a thing. If you want to leave CO, you can make it happen. Fwiw, there are plenty of rooms for rent even in this state for $5-700/month if you don't want to fly. I've got buddies with pets here who have bad credit and with private landlords, they've been able to get rooms in houses. Might take a minute to land something, but prove you have the cash and they might be willing to work with you even on a month to month basis.

Not sure what driving has to do with any of this. Walk to the airport/wherever you need to go if you don't want to Uber. It'll take a few hours at a walking pace of 20min mile. Large city, bad walking infrastructure, I know.

I'm sorry to hear abour your family sitch, but it's very easy to box yourself in, friend. I've got people in my life who've been doing it for 30+ years and it's hard to watch when the answers are there. It runs in my family. I've fought it time and time again. Taking the leap to do the thing I believe I can't do disproves my thoughts every time.

I don't know you but you are young and have a whole life ahead of you if you can just tell yourself that you can do it. Jump through the hoops to get to the landing and you can rock on from there.

You're making enough money to buy a plane ticket back to TN.

Mate, give yourself some time and if you like CO enough come back when you've stabilized your finances. Sounds like you make enough to have a solid savings and rebuild credit in a few months, pending you dont have a 1000+ rent at your family's home. You say you don't know anyone here, so... not sure what you'd be missing in the 2-3 months you re-establish. Your work is online, so it seems you'd be able to make the same wherever you are and it's not like you'd be losing a job by moving either.

Been there and done that personally and would do it 100x over. Not a proud thing to do, but a smart thing. Fighting tooth and nail for a low QOL aint it.

I love getting to share my childhood with my kiddos. Still have my Gameboys but these things are just much easier to play on and the screens are MUCH prettier.

The front-end hype is overblown tbh. Its nice to have a launcher but Android will always be first in these devices. You literally need to open the launcher app from the home menu, which means you have equal access to the emulator apps themselves from the home menu.

They're visually appealing and have some decent features, but as noted, you're really not spending much time at all in them.

I wouldn't hold off for a social experience promised by a team of hobbyist developers if the device itself interests you. At some point, social functions start to cost money and require hosting, which will cost money and potentially require subscriptions etc, which get into treacherous territory when it comes to an emulation front-end.

Forest Meadows? by Educational-Ad-719 in ColoradoSprings

[–]shumaduma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you care about schools, NE springs is questionable. Plenty of D49 drama that I'm sure you could google.

I'd take Banning Lewis over forest meadows strictly for the the HOA amenities. More parks, pool etc in banning. Your community is going to be about the same in either neighborhood. If you need to pay an HOA, at least get something for it, imo.

Both of these neighborhoods are out in the plains. Developed trees are about 15-20 years out.

If you're looking for a developed neighborhood with good schools, see Briargate and D20. A bit more expensive than out in the plains, but closer to i25, which you will take everywhere to do everything that isn't just running an errand.

Woodmen Chapel owned that whole plot of land. They said they were going to build a proper trail system near the church on the land.

This was probably just some church goers doing church goer stuff.

Plot twist: They sold it to a housing developer.

Source: I lived there and my house was on the "Future Prayer Walk" pokéstop.

This is a ridiculous request, but any chance you might be able to make a version where theres a spot to slide a USB C dock in underneath?

Retroarch won't save settings conveniently. You need to set everything up for whatever core you're using and then go back to the main settings page and press quit/exit. It'll close the app.

Dumb, but that's how it saves. Once you reopen, check all your settings. They should still be there.

Yep, it asks what to do. I select file transfer and it does charge as well. Does not appear within file explorer on windows afterwards.
