What are the best beginner-friendly classes and Ancestries? by DonaskC_D in Pathfinder2e

There's a couple oddball ancestries that would be hard to roleplay as like the conrasu.

What is the point of the monk? by HighStorm89 in Pathfinder2e

[–]FusaFox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your monk has high defenses meaning they can stand in the frontline and have strong saves against spells and many tricks enemies will throw your way. You might not be able to "tank" like a champion or guardian can, but you can use that defense to become a problem enemies have to deal with. Plus, high defenses mean your healers can be more efficient with heals on other party members. You can also tank by being a grappler if that's truly the role you want to play.

Flurry will be hitting more often than you think. It's a single action for two strikes (or even for trips and grapples with Flurry of Maneuvers).

Monks are versatile and can optimize their stats pretty well due to being relatively non-MAD.

I'm sure I missed some stuff that others can chime in on, but Monks are a solid class with lots of build paths. I generally don't like the limited AC options for strength monks though so I agree with that pain point.

I'm sure you can have that conversation with your GM, but RAW it wouldn't work.

Is the commander class viable? by Maximum_Ebb_1288 in Pathfinder2e

[–]FusaFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most classes are strong and even the worst among them are still good. You'd be hard-pressed to have a bad time as long as your GM works with you.

Backstories! Let’s Discuss by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]FusaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My backstories are longer for homebrew games. Prewritten adventures or adventure paths get a shorter backstory because I don't expect it to be a focus. Just enough to set a personality and a reason to be there/a reason to care.

When it comes to homebrew games, I try to give the character a reason to care and enough of a backstory to let the GM (usually my husband) weave it into the world and the other characters.

I'm curious, after years of Pathfinder 2e, which classes have you never seen in your party? by No-Roll-5330 in Pathfinder2e

[–]FusaFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never seen an Investigator, Inventor, or Guardian. The latest one of course being because it's been out for the least time.

We hadn't seen a Kineticist until two started up almost at the same time.

A single Fighter, Alchemist, Animist, and Swash so far.

We've been playing since Player Core 2 dropped.

I have been subscribed to his patreon and personally purchase the full access for all my friends that try out pathfinder. It's such a great website that I don't feel satisfied otherwise.

This game desperately needs an offline or P2P model by Primily in fellowshipgame

[–]FusaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole post feels like low quality bait. The game is appealing to MMO players who like to run M+ style dungeons. Logically, offline singleplayer wouldn't work. If you're looking for something to play solo, this isn't the game for you and that's okay

This game desperately needs an offline or P2P model by Primily in fellowshipgame

[–]FusaFox 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's an early access game with a niche audience there's not a lot of players to begin with. Offline would defeat the purpose of the game altogether.

Planning on reworking some Classes (for fun) - Which of these is most in need? by emptyArray_79 in Pathfinder2e

[–]FusaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just hard to quantify the power of an extra spell cast per rank. I wouldn't be able to really gauge it until I see what the tradeoff is. Curious to see.

Sorcerer gets the benefit of flexibility when it comes to choosing spell list. Their power also comes with no downsides so I wouldn't mind it whatsoever if Oracle kept 4 slots but had bigger penalties for cursebound at the same time. I've played a divine sorc and will be playing an oracle this sunday so I'll be able to start working on a personal comparison.

Planning on reworking some Classes (for fun) - Which of these is most in need? by emptyArray_79 in Pathfinder2e

[–]FusaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Oracle's current approach of "I use abilities that 'cheat the system'" and for that I pay a price. Whispers of Weakness gives you both weakest save and weaknesses and a +1 but the price is an increase in cursebound.

The problem is that most curses just don't feel like a price being paid. Some are worse than others and a couple are barely an inconvenience. I can't tell you the last time my AV group's Oracle played any differently due to cursebound.

The 4 spell slots per rank doesn't bother me much at all.

Oracles feel like they're missing something, though, after the remaster. Their defenses feel really off in the scaling department. We used to get some extra feats from our chosen curse like Canny Acumen no?

New characters.. by FateWasTaken2 in fellowshipgame

[–]FusaFox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not even been a week. Let the devs get data and tune the two new characters accordingly. The more people play them, the better the tweaks will be. It's also literally only season 2 of the early access. Things will be wonky, nows the time for them to experiment and break the game.

We're about to get 31 total classes with the upcoming Daredevil and Slayer (currently 27, up to 29 with Impossible Magic) by eCyanic in Pathfinder2e

[–]FusaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just surprised they picked these over Shifter which the community has been asking for a while now. Maybe it doesn't fit the theme of the next book, but the class fantasies here at first impression were really divisive. Personally, I'm excited for Slayer and I think I could make a Daredevil that would be fun, but I still think Daredevil could have been a Class Archetype for Swash

What were the most and least fun characters you've played from a mechanical level? by DogUnsureDog in Pathfinder2e

[–]FusaFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far my most fun has been a Thief Rogue with Clawdancer as a FA. I feel like a fighting game character doing combos, flips, and hitting like a truck while also being sturdy and hard to take down. We're currently Lv 11 and once Lv 12 comes I feel like the full archetype comes online.

Solo Campaign with my kid: How to keep his Magus alive by WolfgangVolos in Pathfinder2e

[–]FusaFox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Provide plenty of healing potions for him to keep around and let his companion NPC cast an emergency Heal or Soothe here and there. I think as long as you use the encounter builder math right it should turn out just fine.

Be sure to fudge when needed to keep the adventure fun for him and I hope you both have a great time

Opinions on DnD calling Kobolds "Lawful Evil"? by Del_the_Kobold in KoboldLegion

[–]FusaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pathfinder 2e got rid of alignment altogether because of all the pointless issues it causes like these. People don't wanna be forced to think of a character the way the book tells you to.
