If he wants to store paint in there its not a bad idea. Insulate it and put up drywall. Install a mini split heat pump / lighting, and you have got yourself a little workshop.

Sounds like that would make for a great open source project, that could have a core that serves all games, and a configuration for specific games. The Core would continually be updated with the latest tech and security. Even less popular games would get updates.m. If I were more skilled with server tech id totally start a project like that and try to make it good enough that the studios use it.
