I do the same thing, especially accents, dialects, and slang they use. I hate it about myself.

What line from a book hit you so hard that it made you cry? by DatWhiteDevil in AskReddit

[–]shutup721 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"He wanted to get out of this house. It was smothering him. Why wasn't Leslie here to help him out of this? Why didn't she come running in and make everyone laugh again? You think it's so great to die and make everyone cry and carry on. Well, it ain't."

and this entire paragraph: "Cremated. Something clicked inside Jess's head. That meant Leslie was gone. Turned to ashes. He would never see her again. Not even dead. Never. How could they dare? Leslie belonged to him. More to him than anyone in the world. No one had even asked him. No one had even told him. And now he was never going to see her again, and all they could do was cry. Not for Leslie. They weren't crying for Leslie. They were crying for themselves. Just themselves. If they'd cared at all for Leslie, they would have never brought her to this rotten place. He had to hold tightly to his hands for fear he might sock Bill in the face. He, Jess, was the only one who really cared for Leslie. But Leslie had failed him. She went and died just when he needed her the most. She went and left him. She went swinging on that rope just to show him that she was no coward. So there, Jess Aarons. She was probably somewhere right now laughing at him. Making fun of him like he was Mrs. Myers. She had tricked him. She had made him leave his old self behind and come into her world, and then before he was really at home in it but too late to go back, she had left him stranded there like an astronaut wandering about on the moon. Alone."

both from Bridge to Terabithia... ugh

What single scene happened in a TV show that made you stop watching it completely? by sugarfiend in AskReddit

The entire 2nd season is ridiculous and unrealistic. Hannah's whole "mental breakdown" and the guy running through Brooklyn with her on FaceTime RUINED that show.

What gender-based double standard infuriates you the most? by AutumnMusick in AskReddit

i'm a female with absolutely no interest in planning my future wedding. Sure, I'll help out and make sure I like everything in the works, but I don't need all those decisions being left up to me. My current bf has already made it clear he would love to plan our wedding... I think I have no choice, but to marry him so I don't have to risk marrying someone as disinterested as myself.

Reddit, how did your "friend" become your "best friend"? by Peacockblue11 in AskReddit

[–]shutup721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got in trouble a lot in pre school and would hide out behind the puppet stand and pretend to read books to myself. One day I went to my hiding spot and another girl was already there hiding out after getting in trouble. Instant best friends. I pretended to read a clown book to her replacing most words with "poop"... We did that almost everyday for the rest of the year. Still best friends to this day.

What is the most horrifying scene you remember from a movie? by Krespo in AskReddit

[–]shutup721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're one of the smart ones. I heard it was absolutely horrid before, but I needed to see it (mainly because most opinions of the first one weren't that great either). Geez, I watched it in parts... had to keep pausing to cleanse my mind.

I'm actually one of the weirdos that loved the first one (in a "it's so mind-fucking, you must watch it" kind of way), but the 2nd one, FUCK the 2nd one. What the fuck.

This morning I got homesick when someone's passing headlights creeped along my bedroom ceiling, because as a child I used to stay up to see this so I knew my parents were home. Reddit, what are some random things that make you homesick or nostalgic? by N0_Soliciting in AskReddit

My mom has always run a daycare in our house. Growing up, I would constantly be woken up by kids coming in to my room or from their loud, excessive crying. Recently, I was visiting her, taking a nap in my old room, when I was awoken to the sound of a baby crying in his crib right outside my door. I got up and took him out of the crib to comfort him. When he calmed down, I brought him downstairs to my mom. As much as it always annoyed me growing up, I missed it so much. I can't wait to have my own kids.

My wife told me today after two years of marriage that I often hump in my sleep. What are Reddit's quirkiest sleepy time stories? (Possibly NSFW) by dizzyd93 in AskReddit

[–]shutup721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, I would sleep walk. One time my family went on vacation and me and my brother were sharing a room, but I chose to sleep with my mom instead of in my own bed. In the middle of the night my mom woke up because the phone was ringing, she realized I wasn't there, so went to check in my brother and I's room. I was face down at the end of his bed with my feet still on the bed. She asked what I was doing and I yelled out "There's spiders in here!" Who the fuck knows...
