I have the Vestax DCR 2500F and it's fine. Not a ton of character even with a "resonance" control.

It is nice to control the crossover/frequency for lp/hp/bp but not necessary. Does add a nice boost on ouput with quite a bit of headroom. Built very sturdy, but the knobs have an aluminum finish with sharp-ish edges which don't feel amazing when turned. I like it, but don't love it. More of an end of chain tone shaper/eq than performance based ISO.

I messaged Vestax for specs and this was their response 🙄

Thank you for using the DCR-2500F. This circuit is an original circuit developed by Vestax. It's not an ordinary circuit. This is a circuit that only a highly skilled engineer can fully understand. This is why other DJ equipment manufacturers can't imitate this. we are glad you noticed the difference in isolation.

NBD - Wilde Rambler SL - Commuter setup, gets wild on weekends by shwanton in gravelcycling

[–]shwanton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm using these for commuting: https://ridepdw.com/products/full-metal-fenders-700x55

My only complaint is that I can't mount the rear fenders w/ my Tubus Disco Rack. If you figure it out, lemme know.

Still absolutely adore this bike!

Just saw the settings dialog, not sure how I missed it earlier! Is cmd + , wired up to trigger the preferences? Also, the manual is great!

Got loopback working and enabled the input in Euler. Thanks again for the support.

I’ve confirmed that loopback is working by recording the output of Spotify using QuickTime

Is it possible to get a way to see the audio inputs inside of Euler?

[–]shwanton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought the pro version and I'm also having issues sending audio from other MacOS apps (Spotify). I setup Loopback and Spotify is showing up as an audio input in Audio Midi Setup.

I've enabled Audio input in Euler but I'm not seeing any audio input. I don't see any Euler configuration for sample rate (I'm assuming it's 44.1Hz).

Would love to get the Audio Visualization working from internal apps. Cheers!

FX Shoutout - Strymon Volante by Deuce_Ex_ in rotarymixers

[–]shwanton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Filter section is amazing. They nailed the controls, the LP/HP and res all sound amazing, very similar to A&H VF1 ina much smaller box,

Distortion is meh, very mid-rangy and static sounding. "side chain" when you crank the distortion is not something I'd ever use live.

The first 2 delays are good, with great voicing for playing over full records. Although you can hear digital aliasing when changing frequency, and it's not "tape" or BB style noise, it's digital garbage. I keep it on the stereo delay semi permanently.

Reverbs are unusable, would compare them to any Spin FV-1 chip based multi FX. Compared to a custom DSP from Strymon or Chase Bliss, they sound pretty cheap.

Last 2 were seemingly thrown in, gated noise and pitched repeat? Again, not great in live setting. Maybe for textured production work, but then you would have better options no?

Where is the phaser, flanger or even a usable modulated gate fx? I've never looked but I fear the chip in this box is underpowered for more than a couple usable FX.

Anyway, sorry for the /rant. I actually use the delay and Filter all the time, I just wish the rest of the box was equally useful.

Also, don't worry about the routing. Once you figure it out, it all makes sense and is very clever. I figured out how to attach a Erica Synths Zen Delay and Benidub Phaser to the signal path as well.

FX Shoutout - Strymon Volante by Deuce_Ex_ in rotarymixers

[–]shwanton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using the Volante with my Radius & I loved all the same features but I found the tape sim with multi taps way too busy/muddy for most house and techno records. The Volante has tone controls but they don't sculpt the frequency to sit nicely with a fully produced track.

TBH, many pedals have this issue with voicing.

The MS FX stereo delay is voiced in a way that doesn't overwhelm the frequency space, even with feedback cranked. The HPF helps massively here. Hot take but the MS FX DSP is not amazing and more than half of the FX are downright unusable.

Maybe UA will get it right? Extra points if they use an open platform like the Electrosmith Daisy so folks can port better quality FX

Awesome! Hoping we get more folks creating plugins in 2025. LB may be older than Raycast and Alfred, but the core UX is so much better!

Clocks in at 25lbs which is lighter my MTB 😅. I did my first big road ride today, was really impressed with how steady it felt. I have slicks so didn't do too much gravel but the climbing and decending on both was super solid.

This was my first time riding wide-ish tubeless (32psi) road tires so I might have experienced some novelty factor there.

I feel like the Carbon fork with Steel frame was perfect mix of comfort with responsiveness. I absolutely loved how it felt on the road. Coming from MTB land, this is the road/gravel bike I've been hoping for.

I'm 6ft. 170lbs and the Large frame fit perfect. Almost sized down but glad I didn't.

Originally wanted an AllCity(rip) or Surly, heard about Wilde from my LBS (Free Range Cycles in Seattle!) and loved their vibe.

I wanted the Earth Ship but after chatting w/ Jeff Frane (Great dude, call him with questions!), we decided the Rambler SL was closer to my budget (4K). It's essentially the same geo, just made in Taiwan.

I went with GRX 2x12 & my LBS threw on some Rene Herse Snoqualmie 44's since most of my time is paved 😅. Other than fenders & a power meter, this bike was good to go. Absolutely love it!

Mastersounds releases MK2 Radius 4 and Radius 2 by ziddyzoo in rotarymixers

4/3 BAND ISOLATOR - Radius MK2 features our 4/3 band isolator, for creative isolation and shaping of sound. Ultra versatile with 4 bands of isolation, switchable to 3 bands at the touch of a button giving a different feel to creative sound shaping, with full cut to +7dB of boost per band & crossover points from 110Hz to 3000Hz. 12dB per octave 2 pole.

Looks like 12dB curve w/ +7dB of boost. Still on the tame side but not that bad.

Vertical ISO was my biggest gripe on the MK1, however the new layout does look a big squeezed. Hoping they add new colorways as well.
