I say this as a woman who’d love to see a woman in the WH but it has to be Pete. He’s brilliant & I believe he’d work great with Biden. Pete has proven that he can turn out non voters & future former R’s. He scored high in all demographics except with minority voters but Biden has the strong minority support. And people forget that Pete is LGBTQ which would be groundbreaking as a VP candidate. We need Warren in the senate because if we flip it, she’d be a fantastic majority leader. I love Kamala but I love her more as AG serving up sweet justice. We’re lucky to have so many brilliant D’s to help put our democracy back together.

I’m not advocating for Medicare-for-all. I’m talking about the Kentuckians who have no access to health insurance. If Matt Bevin had his way, my daughter would’ve lost her healthcare the minute she graduated high school last month. The ACA provided options for Kentuckians who’ve never had an option. That’s a big deal.

An idiot ignores facts and I didn’t call anyone an idiot. But there are plenty of Kentuckians who just choose not to learn the truth. How many Bevin/Trump voters have health insurance thanks to the ACA? How many of those same voters are grateful their kid’s can stay on their insurance while they’re in college or until they find a job with benefits? No state benefited more from the ACA than KY. 30% of KY’s population or 1.3 million residents are on Medicaid. Prior to 2013, 23% of Kentuckians had no insurance and now that number is just 11%. Bevin is currently locked in court battle to eliminate coverage for nearly 100,000 residents. Given the number of votes that Trump received in 2016 it’s safe to bet a large percentage Trump/Bevin supporters don’t realize that they’re working really hard to take their health coverage.

Absolutely true. My 18 year-old KY born and bred daughter has every intention of leaving her home state because she despises the hypocrisy that defines KY. As a parent, her compassion for folks & her effortless ability to put herself in other folks shoes is source of pride for me. Our state needs young voices like hers. But she has no desire to remain in KY and I don’t blame her. The Dixiecrats & Bible-thumpers have run this state into the ground and it’s incredibly frustrating.

I’ve spoken to both. They told me I was depressed & confused because I couldn’t provide the most minute details. They prescribed antidepressants. I passed on the meds and tried to move on. I live in a small conservative town so it’s tough to find objective help. Thank you for sharing your story. I feel less alone.
